Why isn't there a British Premier League and one British football system or something like that. The UK IS one country, correct?

Yes it is.

I guess the reason it is that way is just the way it fell into place over 100 years ago. England and Scotland setup separate competitions, and then played the first ever international.
It would have been unworkable to have had a UK league in those times.

That is true, I'm surprised that Le Guen has done so badly tbh.
But I meant that you never know what that Lithuanian is going to do.

Wasn't the FA Cup a tournament that involved all of the countries in the UK back in the day? If a UK joint league can't be done, why don't you guys have a UK cup where you have a tournament similar to the FA Cup or the UEFA Champions League where you have the best X amount of clubs from England (Premier League + Championship), Wales (League of Wales), Northern Ireland (Irish Premier League) and Scotland (Scottish Premier League)?

Damn, Man United had several chances to make it 1-0 but fell flat on their faces.

Trola,

I found a really cool site that televises EPL and other football matches (though it charge by the month). Should I post it? I'm watching United-Liverpool with it right now.

Yes, it had teams from Wales and Scotland but it also had military and university teams in it at that point.
As for a UK Cup, the League of Wales and Irish Premier League would never compete with the big teams so it could really only be England and Scotland, and unless there was a big sponsor I don't think some of them would be that interested in playing in it.

As long as it is legal, then it's up to you whether you post it.

Yes, Manchester United playing well, Liverpool not so much. I really don't understand Benitez continually changing the starting XI.

Politics is one of the main reasons, if they started to have joint competitions and leagues then other countries would call for them to only have one vote in UEFA and FIFA matters, that's why they have had to be assured that if they enter a team into the Olympics then they would still be able to keep their individual votes.

I wouldn't shout to loudly to a Scot or Welshman that the UK is a single country specially in Wales or your cottage would get burnt down

Liverpool need to start from scratch, they need to stop stocking their team with Spanish and Latino players who have no idea what it takes to win in England, even Jose knows this has his team as a backbone of Terry and Lampard.

Ive lived in Florida all but the first 4 months of my life, and havent really had the urge to go to a spring training game aside from when I first moved to college only because some of the guys I knew (and still know) wanted to go and wanted to know if Id tag along.

I lived within 20/30 minutes of the Orioles ST facility throughout my childhood and never wanted to go (if it was the Marlins perhaps I would have), and now that they're about to get Ft. Lauderdale to tear down my favorite stadium backhome Im gonna go ahead and hate the Orioles.

Its not as interesting as it seems, but if you're trying to see them all in 2 or 3 weeks then thats a more interesting endeavor then just going to a single game. Personally, Im not that much of a fan of exhibition matches (at least in American sports) to begin with so I'll admit to having a decent amount of bias.

to add to what he said...the tournament would probably be a negative for the players as they already play quite a number of games already in a full season, and with the amount teams seem to charge their fans I dont see it being worthwhile in general.
