New Custom league

Hi,

I'm starting to prepare a new online 12 team custom league. I'd like to use MLB Players and have a fantasy draft. I remember in OOTP5 I used to take the roster patch i downloaded and then... I dont remember lol. How do I start a totally new league with existing players from a roster patch? Using OOTP2006 of course...

Thanks for reminding me.

Bruno

I did the exact same thing. I suggest you hold your draft elsewhere, then use the Rolen17 roster pack, release all the players, then delete all the teams and re-make new teams and sign the players to them as FAs.

I think what I did before was I copied the player files from the rolen roster and pasted where the default players were in the ootp5 folder. They were like overwritten if I remember correctly. I'm just remember if you can do the same thing with ootp2006, or what's the easiest thing to do... Cause I'm starting an international league with real mlb players.

I only know of one way to do it - not sure if there's an easier or better way.

Start a new league and then select "add historical major league" and add the roster file into that newly created league.

The last time I suggested this the poster said it worked for him but he needed to do some moving around of players. I'm not sure the extent of that movement, but it eventually worked out for him.

Dola.

You might have moving around to do if you want to get rid of the fantasy players generated when the computer creates the league. As it is, you'll be dumping gump loads of historical players on top of hundreds of fantasy players. You might want to release and/or delete them first before you import the historical roster.

Or not.
