He played a couple of years at Wigan and around the late 80's to early 2000's I never missed a game so will have seen him play, he doesn't stick in the mind because if memory serves me right he had a longterm injury while he was at Wigan, leg injury of some kind I think.

He actually made his debut the day before my birthday so will deff have seen him play that game, as back then my Mum used to pay for the game closest to my birthday be it home or away.

Unfortunately for Tony he suffered a terrible knee injury that enforced his retirement from the game and he was heartbroken to leave Springfield Park on 1st October 1997 after making just 17+15 League appearances. He was a qualified chef and he combined this career with playing football on a part time basis after leaving the club

I mentioned him because he is one of Leigh RMIs favoured players. It says that he went from Wigan in 1997-98; then he reappears at Leigh in 2000-01. Thats a cool bio..I hope you keep up these cool footie tidbits.

I was looking at Colin Methvens profile on the A-Z and weird thing is a player called David Miller is below him, can't remember him off hand but he also played for Leigh.

Infact below Methven is Miller who played for Leigh then it's Mike Millett who was a top class youth player but died in a car crash before he could play full time then its Jimmy Mitchell who played only 2 games for the Latics and actually played for Howrich RMI the team that moved to Leigh to become Leigh RMI, there's loads of ex Latics players who will have played for Horwich/Leigh another one being Mickey Moore and I'm pretty sure they had an ex Latics goalkeeper there a few years back.

I think I like Horwich better than Leigh. Any chance they will switch back?

No idea, never saw them at Horwich or heard anything about them so no idea if they'd be well supported or wanted back, they used to have decent crowds at the start, I went watching them play their first game in Leigh because was supposed to go watching Wigan but their game was called of because of a waterlogged pitch go figure when theres only 6 miles between their grounds one weird thing was they were still called Horwich as they couldnt change names or something mid way through a season.
