Ummm, if Cubbie fans deserve a refund, I'd say this long time suffering Red Sox fan deserves one too. You could call it the Bill Buckner special.

As a Cub fan, well, that glimmer hasn't attempted to shine since 1969.

I lived in Philly for 6 years and used to follow the sports talk shows (all though I had to turn it off when this one pompous idiot would come on, can't remember his name, but you Philly people would know him). Anyway, I thought the Philly fans for the most part were harsh on players, but also intellectually sound in their views. But there was another group that let emotion get in the way of intellect. I always thought they were nuts with some of the things they would say (how could the bad mouth Carlton and Schmidt).

Anyway, some of the Mets fans we get make those emotional guys in Philly look like brain surgeons. Why is that and are they a good representation of the rest of the Mets fans? Wow.

>Why are these guys ALWAYS Mets fans?

Because they can't be anything else: if they were smart enough to figure out how to solve their own problems then they would be too smart to be Mets fans.

Imagine a Cubs/Red Sox World Series? Two big market teams that haven't won one since my great-grandma had teeth. It'd be the biggest WS in history and just what MLB needs.

You can't proudly proclaim yourself as a "long suffering" Cubs or RedSox fan if your team finally wins one!..winning makes you one of many..."long suffering" allows you to be one of the few and the proud!....
