It's like in OOTP and Baseball Mogul when the Yankees always dump Jeter within the first couple of seasons. But real life is not like OOTP.
I wouldn't think 6/6 popularity would be enough for Jeter. He'd have to be like 1,000,000/1,000,000. |

Being a moron does not mean he is wrong.

Oh I agree with him trading Jeter. I still think he is a Moron for all his other articles. But he is right in this case. Jeter is coming off his best season ever. I doubt he ever gets to this again.

I think that if I was the GM for the Yankees, and I ran them like I do in OOTP, they would form a lynch mob, and Mayor Bloomberg would carry the noose.

Or they could just keep Jeter and sign pitching.
Jeter + Zito > Zito.

Sell high I always say. I bet they could get way over market value for him. So it would be more like Zito+Mark Buerhle+Jermaine Dye. Or something like that.

Pretty sure there isn't a player in the league that the Sox would trade those 2 for. They should keep Jeter and sign like 3 pitchers, they have the money why get rid of something of value? |

But they do not have the money. The Yankees have lost more than 30 million the last two years. Pretty soon, that money will run out. |

Because they've done that in the past and it hasn't worked out (Pavano, Wright, etc.). In order to get someone really good you sometimes have to make a trade for them, or draft them and bring them up through your system.

So instead of just signing Zito, they should trade for someone as good as Zito?? |

Ok how about Zito and Jason Schmidt? Those 2 alone would be plenty. |

But hey, what do I care? Keep throwing long-term big-money contracts at middle of the rotation starters.

But what are the chances of one team getting all three big SPs on the FA board? Even the mighty New York Yankees? I think they get one, and it'll be Matsuzaka. |
