This really reminds me of stuff I was doing a decade ago.
Allan Lichtman wrote that one telling item for an incumbent defeat is a serious third party challenge in the election. It's crazy to see the sitting president as the third party challenger, but who knows? Thus spake publius. |

First of all, how can you possibly vote against a nice guy like Curtis?
Second, Landon and Smith have the best platforms. Third, independents can't be elected President. The last time that happened was George Washington (okay, maybe not in plague world). Fourth, you can't hold Landon's position on the Morton Council against him; the was only six years old, for gossakes! Not only did he not understand the consequences of his actions (which he has since come to greatly and sincerely regret), but the guy was obviously a political prodigy. In conclusion: Vote Curtis. Liberal Republicans give you the best of both worlds. This has been a public service announcement. No chickens were killed in the production of this broadcast. Thank you for your time. See you at the polls. Vote early and vote often. |

This may be the most decisive election outcome ever. Bigger than FDR in 1936 and Nixon in 1972.
