Online league
Do I have to have an FTP website to have an internet league? Can't I just sign up players and have them send me their changes via email and do the simming on my own game? Just wondering. How would I get the information back on the website if it isn't an FTP? Is this even possible?

Are you asking as a team GM/owner or as a league Commissioner?
If you are GM/Owner of a team in an online league, your transactions (free agents, trades, cuts) are posted on a message board or emailed to the commissioner. The commissioner will do the transactions in the master league file. As a commissioner, it helps to have a nice league web site but I guess you could just do the transactions via email and then post the league file after running sims. I can't imagine hat would be a popular method but in a small league amongst friends, very doable. Sorry if I am not understanding/addressing your question.

Well you sorta answered my question. Actually, I can get a website, but don't FTP website's cost money. I want to get the information from the game onto a normal website. Is that possible? I mean being able to get the normal website look with all the information without having to pay for an FTP? Maybe I'm just blabbering. Does anybody understand?

team files
There are two ways for a Commissioner to accept the league owners’ team files. One is called ‘Export to FTP, which requires an FTP-capable website,I presume. The other way is for the owners to email their files to you, and you manually put them in the game folder.
The FTP process just automates the task of installing the owners’ team files into the game. No matter how you get those team files, the game sims the same way. |

Also, it's easier for fellow owners to spot massively lop-sided trades between your various franchises when you have one of those pesky messageboards. If you get your league running, lemme know. I love being jerked around by dishonest commishes. |

Not saying it does not happen but I've never seen this sort of cheating in a fictional team/fictional player league. I am guessing that may have something to do with the maturity level of people who would go through so much trouble to cheat in an online baseball game since immature people often seem less drawn to fictional leagues.

Surprised that since we have been saying that he cheats on this board, he is gone without a trace...
