Dusseldorf is a fairly wealthy team and has a huge wage budget. And the season lasts inyo June.

You play at Old Trafford against an Arsenal team without Henry, you would expect better than a 1-0 loss.... Rooney has got to get back to form after his time off. My assessment of the match (which I was happy to find that I could watch live this morning courtesy of Fox Soccer Channel) was that Arsenal was making a lot of crisp passes and United was pathetic in the middle of the pitch. Once Arsenal got around the box, though, United played pretty well defensively, the goal not withstanding (and most of the blame for the goal can be placed on Ronaldo). Manchester United played poorly and never really got into a rhythm. This has been a bad day for me. I wake up sick as a dog. I watch Manchester United lose at home to Arsenal. Then I watch my Browns get blown out by the Bengals.

nice to see an Arsenal win, especially over Man U...
in a completely unrelated game... http://www.esmas.com/sef/futbol/tor23/part1182.html Toluca beat Tigres 7-0 in the Mexican League; 3 goals in consecutive minutes (50-52) and 5 goals within a span of 10 minutes (50-59)...I cant recall ever seeing anything remotely like that in my lifetime at any level...and Ive won a game 18-0 in the past. PS- bababui (or anyone), do you know a site where I can check to see what channels will be showing games and when? I usually just channel surf over the weekend on the typical spanish channels.

Arbroath 36 v 0 Bon Accord 1885 Scottish Cup and on the same day Dundee Harp beat Aberdeen Rovers 35-0, bad day for the city of Aberdeen as Bon Accord were from Aberdeen meaning that two of the city's teams got beat by a combined 71-0 in one day.
Could have been worse as the Abroath v Bon Accord ref disallowed several (7 by all accounts) goals for offside or he didn't know if the ball had gone in the goal as there were no nets in those days, and the Dundee game the ref counted 37 the Dundee official counted 35 so they agreed on 35. It's stated that the Arbroath goalkeeper never touched the ball and spent the game smoking his pipe under an umbrella he had borrowed from a fan, by all accounts Arbroath should have been playing Orion FC but someone made a mistake and invited Bon Accord to play instead who weren't actually a football team but a cricket team called Orion Cricket Team but changed their name to Bon Accord to hide their origins. Would the score have been different, not realy as Arbroath drew Orion in the cup in 1887 and the real Orion team turned up but still lost 20-0 |

Lady luck continues to smile on Bromley (must admit it is getting to the point where we are surely due an almighty run of misfortune) as we get drawn away to one of the real minnows in the FA Cup. We've got Lowestoft Town in the second round, and while no away draw is ever easy they are a tier nine club, coming from the real regional leagues. They've had to battle through all the way from the extra preliminary round so hopefully they'll be happy with their solid cup run and the giant killing of Canvey Island in the last round...
You just know we are going to lose now don't you

If only all footballers were the same, Graham Heathcoate of Altrincham when he came off after they had just been beaten by Dagenham 5-0 came off to the sounds of one fan shouting "This is rubbish Graham, I've had to pay £30 for me and my family to watch this"
Heathcoate then beckoned the supporter to him were he apologised and gave the man £30 out of his own pocket, classic and we salute you Graham. |

He's the manager of Altrincham, not a player.

The way the "universe" was implemented was awful, you have to admit that.
