Problem importing individual players

In the faq section I learned how to import individual players, most work just fine. However, occasionally a player will import without statistics.

I am compiling an alltime allstar league, starting with Atlanta and I ran into trouble immediatley with the catchers. When I tried to import Javy Lopez 1997 he comes in as a "player who should stay in the minors" with no previous years stats.

I performed some trouble shooting such as other players from 1997 and Javy Lopez from previous and later years and all imported just fine. I ran into the same trouble with Fred Mcgriff 1994.

I believe I have the latest ootp4 version, downloaded aprox 3 weeks ago, also downloaded 4.5 archive a couple of days later. I have a compaq 7470, windows 98, plenty of hard disc space and memory.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

What version of the Lahman database are you using? Is it a stock version right from the baseball archive?

If so you might want to try one of the edited versions that correct a few small problems with the database.

The Baseball Archive Baseball Database
Version 4.5
Release Date: March 26, 2002.

Yes, I downloaded the Version 4.5 - comma-delimited version from the http://baseball1.com/statistics/ page.

Where are the edited versions, and what should I look for to solve this problem?

Go here and you should be able to find several, just look at the titles of the files.

Edited version successfully downloaded and tested on Javy and CrimeDog. Works like a charm!
