4th deck homers are easy

Especially fourth deck homers followed by opposite-field homers followed by triples.
What really pisses me off is that I was at Monday night's game, and he didn't play.

Yikes, Home Run King comes with two homers in two games after the all-star break. And he barely missed one in the first inning of this game as well.

This guy is getting scary good at hitting homers. 7 in the first 8 games of September, 13 in the last 16 games.

He's definitely a monster hitter. Are the Phillies just idiots for not giving him a shot until he was 25 years old, or did he have some sort of developmental leap where everything started clicking? I get amazed every so often at how good he is this early in his career, and then I remember he's almost 27 already.

I'm trying to remember, it was either 2003 or 2004 that Howard began putting up monster numbers while playing at Reading in AA ball. Which began getting him notice, but with the caveat of how much Howard strikes out. I remember last season, while Howard was still down in AAA at Scranton, he was putting up amazing numbers but I was wondering if he could continue to hit while striking out so much.
It seems he can. |

It was 2004 that Ryan Howard started having his breakout with Reading. He hit 37 homeruns and set the new team record there.
