Face Tool download

Anyone know where I can download Face Tool other than through Rapid Share?

(First time I tried through Rapid Share, it froze. After that, it tells me that that I am over my limit for free downloads... I guess I'm cranky, but I don't feel like paying for downloads, nor do I feel like giving Rapid Share any personal information.)

Looks interesting, but hey...

You may have to wait a little. (less than an hour).
Try to download again, it should tell you how long until you can redownload.

I have edited this post. The OOTP FaceTool installation is now available from the OOTP Mod Squad site.

Download Face Tool Setup

I've downloaded this thing, not knowing what it is, on the assumption that the link will go away in the future and I might want to have the thing later. So, what is this Face Tool? I know it's a beta, and that there's a warning that it can be unstable.

It's only the best thing ever. It creates pictures for your players and puts them in a uniform. All the mlb jerseys are there and you can put your own created unis in there too. If not it makes a uni using the logo and color scheme of your team.

Wow, this sounds incredible. Does it keep track of players changing teams, too?

You have to run it again but it will keep the same face and just change the uni.

Actually, I did, and I waited an hour, but neither solved the problem. But Charlie Hough's posting got it for me.

if you have not used this and especially if you have any fictional players in your game, you MUST get this ASAP. It is off the charts phenomenal.

I use to spend hours trying to get a handful of faces that were average at best. This gives every player in your league a top notch face with the actual uniform of the team he is on. run it again on opening day and all the players who have changed teams in the off season, now have the correct uniform. run it again at the trade deadline and again all the players are updated to reflect the trades made.

I simply can't express how much I love this tool.

Layton you are MY homeboy!

I definitely agree. I didn't care much for face packs etc. This program is frigging awesome and will have me setting up a fictional league very soon.

Layton is my Homeboy has hit 1.0 with the tool. The installer says otherwise, I think he has not gotten around to updating the installer.

He's written that he has a very full slate of personal business the next few weeks, and his time is limited.

He's given OOTP mod sites the OK to host the app, if they want.

Is it flawed? Yep. Is it brilliant? Yep.

I can't wait to see what he's going to do with it. It already rivals Catobase.

Agreed. Once he has time to fix some of these small bugs there aren't going to be many people who aren't using it. I feel bad for those that can't get it to work. It really is a cool add on for OOTP.

According to OOTP itself, OOTP MLB play (modern and historical) outnumbers OOTP fictional play three to one.

Five thousand thanks for a non-modder? I never thought I'd see the day. Thank you for your support.

That might be problematic, because the developer of Face Gen requires a commercial license in order to make a profit from any faces generated from its product. The license costs about $1000. And while asking for donations doesn't seem very 'commercial' to the layperson, I'm sure that the developer would consider this to be revenue earned in part from using its product. Since Layton is a law student, I imagine that he's well aware of the risk and will be stearing clear of asking for donations. But I agree that it would be nice if he could earn something more than just accolades for all his work.

Well, he at least deserves a beer for this. This is the best add on for 06 and is on par with catobase as the best mod in OOTP history.
