Odalis Perez kills the Giants. He's got two wins against us this year and only four total!

April 15th, 2006 Derek Lowe was untouchable as he recorded his first complete game shutout of the season. Lowe Spirits in San Francisco San Francisco 0, Los Angeles (N) 7 Derek Lowe was sensational in his second start of the season for the Dodgers as he held the Giants scoreless in notching his first shutout of the season, backed by home runs from Jose Cruz Jr. and Olmedo Saenz. The Giants were able to find baserunners against Lowe, collecting five hits and four walks, but they were unable to bring them around the bases as they grounded into three double plays. Starter Kevin Correia couldn't keep the Giants in the game either as he allowed four runs in four innings of work to take his second loss of the season. Struggling slugger Barry Bonds went 1 for 2 before being lifted for a pinch-hitter when it became apparent the Giants were no longer in the game and red-hot Randy Winn chipped in a double and a single for the otherwise anemic San Francisco lineup. The loss was the Giants second in a row and ninth of the season as the Giants have stumbled out of the gate into MLB's worst record. Tommorow's starter will be rookie Matt Cain as he tries to right the ship against former Giant Brett Tomko in the getaway game of the series. April 16th, 2006 Closer Tim Worell continued to struggle, allowing four runs while pitching in a non-save situation. Turncoats Do Giants In San Francisco 4, Los Angeles (N) 10 Former Giants Brett Tomko and Jose Cruz Jr. took revenge on their old team, the former pitching seven strong innings for the victory and the latter chipping in his third home run in the last three games as the Dodgers cruised past struggling San Francisco to sweep the series at home. Starter Matt Cain was shelled early, being pulled after allowing four runs in just two innings of work and the Giants bullpen didn't do much better to keep it close. Fill-in closer Tim Worrell was knocked around for four runs in a third inning of work pitching in a non-save situation; his ERA on the season is an ugly 15.75, though his job is reportedly not in jeopardy. Jason Ellison had three hits and Lance Niekro hit his third home run of the season, but San Francisco never came within four runs of the lead and Barry Bonds continued to struggle, going 0 for 4 and leaving five men on base. Jose Cruz Jr. has emerged as the unlikely leader in an injury-riddled Dodger offense, clobbering his fourth home run of the season and scoring three runs. Rookie Delwyn Young had three hits as Los Angeles totalled fifteen in cruising to their eighth victory of the season and moving into sole posession of first place in the NL West. San Francisco continues their road trip tomorrow as Jamey Wright takes the hill against Diamondbacks rookie Justin Nippert. |

April 17th, 2006 Jeremy Accardo was victimized for three of the seven runs allowed by the Giants bullpen. Bullpen Gives Way in Phoenix San Francisco 4, Arizona 11 The Giants took a 4-4 tie into the bottom of the sixth inning but the bullpen couldn't keep it close as Brian Wilson, Jeremy Accardo, and Tim Worrell combined to allow seven runs to help San Francisco slide to their fourth straight loss. The Giants have been streaky out of the gate, dropping the first seven games before winning three and now losing another four to bring their overall record to a major-league worst 3-11. San Francisco's offense was again lead by Randy Winn who pounded out four of the Giants eight hits, but Pedro Feliz and Barry Bonds were the only other hitters to reach base twice. Arizona was paced by leadoff man Orlando Hudson who went four for five with a homer and four runs batted in to lead a lineup that also featured a home run from rookie shortstop Stephen Drew. Giants starter Jamey Wright was charged with his second start of the season while Diamondback rookie Dustin Nippert recorded his first victory despite walking five batters in his six innings of work. San Francisco will try to snap the streak tomorrow behind ace Jason Schmidt who will face Arizona's best starter in sinkerballer Brandon Webb. |

Yeah just like the real Giants. Great writing though. Are you on the Mercury staff by any chance?
Are you managing these games or letting the AI dictate their fate? Gonna have to look at rebuilding this franchise with Bonds on the way out...good luck with that challenge! George |

Glad to have the readership, and I'm using CubbyFan and Rolen's rosters.
I can't figure out why my pictures stop showing up after a day or two though. Odd. |

Did this dynasty die? Get tired of watching the Giants lose?
So like real life. George |

Maybe, maybe not. Having technical difficulties with both my image hosting site and the game itself. If I can resolve those I'll get it back going.
