Draft Order Editor for 6.5
Hey folks,
Like many others I've eschewed 2006 in favor of 6.5. My problem is, Pierre's utilities don't work with 6.5, so do I have to move the file back to OOTP6 whenever I need to use it (like draft order?) or if there something else out there? Help is appreciated.

Simply copy your league folder back to your OOTP6.12 directory, do the draft after editing the order, and then move the league folder back to your 6.5 directory. You DON'T have to re-convert your league to 6.5, you simply have to move the folder over.

I'm pretty sure I remember the draft order utility working with 6.5.

It works fine, only after you do it in the editor and then go back into the game nothing worked.
Thanks, sporr. Not the solution I was hoping for, but one that's acceptable. Is there someone out there trying to build a new editor for 6.5? What ever happened to Pierre?

I doubt there will be an update on it from Pierre.

You can do a draft where teams traded draft picks in 6.5. Here is a sample from a league I am in. Alaska had traded for several picks in this round and the order should have been:
1 Alaska 2 Alaska 3 Quebec 4 Spokane 5 Montana 6 Omaha 7 Daytona 8 Washington 9 Little Rock 10 Tombstone 11 Mississippi 12 Tennessee 13 Las Vegas 14 New Mexico 15 Oregon 16 Hawaii 17 San Jose 18 West Texas 19 Savannah 20 Ithaca 21 Alaska 22 Louisville 23 San Juan 24 Oklahoma City When you click on first year player draft the order obviously isn't going to look like what you need it to be. Click on custom draft order and put as many correct picks in a row that you can. To do the draft above put Alaska with the first pick, the rest can be in any order. Go to the draft, pick for Alaska's first pick, and exit. Go back to first year player draft, click custom order, put a team you won't be needing as the first pick (usually the team that was supposed to have the pick) and Alaska through Ithaca 2-20, you can put the rest of the picks in any order you want because they wont be picked. Start the draft, it will be on pick number two, which is Alaska, make the selections up to where the correct order ends, in this case pick 20, and exit the draft. Go back to the first year player draft, click on custom order again and put teams that you won't need as the picks that have already been selected up to where you left off, and then put as many correct picks in a row as you can. For this draft the first 20 teams can be any order as long as you don't use Alaska, Louisville, San Juan, and Oklahoma City as they get picks 21-24. Go to the draft, it will be on pick 21, which is Alaska. You would be able to finish the round of the above draft. All the players are on the correct teams with the correct drafted by history. |
