My rules would be no swearing, no use of "fighting words," and no personal attacks. You could go after any concept or idea or statement anyone posts as hard as you want to but the minute you got personal about it, stepped out of line and went after the person themself instead of what they were posting then you'd be history.

Well, I am a teacher and I can tell you that one just doesn't exist very much anymore. 20+ years and I'm glad I can retire soon. Respect is being lost in our society faster than a rotund woman who had bypass surgery loses weight. Or faster than Pamela Anderson has a new set of implants put in .

Wow, the generalizations of this post really offend me, though if I had my choice I'd have banned you for your previous post with the racial slur in it.

I was interested to see where this thread went, so I held off on commenting. In my views censoring posts that are discussing the game could be a bad thing. Some of the best discussions on this board come from posts that move off-topic.

That being said, I respect the right of the owners of the board to do whatever they want. I also respect their right to lose customers over it. Hopefully they feel their losing more customers over the bickering than they would over censorship. It's a balance that many businesses have to try and maintain.

For the record, that's not any type of threat to leave over this.

Can't we all just get along?

This is perhaps, a little immature, but it looks like so much fun and have always wanted to do this.

In before the lock!

this is where you people don't get it....it started with dlove telling me that he was 25% italian and was offended by the way i use guido in my id.....so the racial slur was not directed at anybody....i used to prove a point.....and if you can't see that point....then i think that that point of view is rather obtuse...........NOW, is this considered a threatening post????

I put my hands into the roaring flames
I felt the pain as it started to burn
I've done the same thing over again and again
As if I never wanted to learn
Moving through the world at obsession speed
Leave a dust trail crossing the land
I'm crying out in fury to the gods of fate
Come on, catch me if you can

This is a way of life for some of us, thank you very much!

There are always those who think that skating right at the edge of the rules is cool.

The problem is that sometimes they mistake where the edge actually is and fall off.

Sorry but that misspelling has always annoyed me. It's like people saying 'ax' when they mean 'ask'.

Carry on . . .

I guess (having not seen the original post) a lot of deciding where and when to skate the edge is contingent on the consequences. Somehow the consequences regarding the priveledge of participating in an online forum are well worth the risk.

I suppose I might risk skating the edge. If you hear my fading screams, I'll be surprised.

It probably has something to do with posters' hitting the reply button.

'Cos it's the BEST THREAD EVER!!

That and it's such an easy opportunity for shameless postboosting!

Edit: How could I forget to add the word shameless?

Really? I worked on some Asterix animation some years ago. Although the books are fun to read, if I see that indomitable little Gaul yet again, it will be too soon. He's not so easy to draw.

Wow, that is very cool! I haven't seen much from Asterix in years, but then again, I don't recall him being that big this side of the water.
