Player scoffs at ML deal, signs minor league deal.

The message for a midseason free agent I contacted noted that the player would sign a minor league contract. Since I needed him as an emergency replacement in the OF and was going to add him to the ML roster anyway, I offerred him the league minimum. The player scoffed at both the length and value of the contract.

The next day, for kicks, I offerred him the minor league deal, which he accepted. Seems odd.
