TT 2140 still existing

After uploading the final WIP patch still get this error (a lot) Player PH for stays in field but PH get all the AB's for the rest of the game. Seems to happen if no one is rated at the position PH'd for is on the bench. Rather than move current SS to 3b (which he is rated for) and insert a SS off the bench AI just doesn't put anyone there at all which leaves the original player PH'd for in there.

Not sure if it would make any difference but are you simming games or playing them out?

I play out all my games and haven't seen this yet. It is possible though that the
AI has always had a "rated" player on the bench. I'll keep an eye out for this one.

spritze,

I'm sorry it has taken me so long to respond to this thread.

Like Sweed, I haven't come across this issue either. Can you give us a little more information?

Are you simming games or playing them out? Does it happen with multiple positions?

Thanks,

Steve

Ok, I did have this happen to me last night when I played out a game.

I'm the Cubs and played the Braves. The Braves were resting their normal starting shortstop Modesto Diaz (he wasn't yellow but in the depth chart the sub, Alvarez, is only sceduled to play if Diaz is tired, not sure if Diaz not being yellow means anything). The Braves started Alvarez at SS and PH for him with Hennesey in the top of the 9th inning. Braves don't score and I come up to bat in the bottom of the 9tn and Alvarez is still at SS ( I didn't actually catch this until later in the game) even though Diaz, the every day SS, is healthy and available to play. Game goes to extra innings and Hennesey does come up to get a second AB in the game in the 11th while Alvarez continued in the field 'til the end of the game.

Could it be related to the AI resting a starter and not wanting to put them in the game when they are tired? Atlanta's roster for middle infield only consists of three players Diaz at SS (also rated at 2b), Mahone at 2b (also rated at SS), and Alvarez (rated only at SS). So with Mahone already at 2b this only left a tired Diaz to come into the game.

This game was played out, as all of mine are, not simmed.
Career has only been played in 12262, though was started using a 12260 template that mirrors current MLB with 5 levels of minors. The MLB roster, used to create the template, was imported from 6.5x.

One more thing I'm 96 games into my season and this is the first time I observed this happen. Which may lend credence to it being a starter resting issue and the AI not being able to put them in the game.

I do want to point out though that unless you are looking for it, it can be an easy thing to miss. Third out is made you come to bat and keep playing the game. It's not like the first thing you do is go " I better make sure the AI brought in a new SS". I only caught it because I was looking to bring in a new pitcher to start the 10th inning and was checking the Braves lineup to see who I would be facing and low and behold there was Hennesey still in the batting order. So when I came up in the bottom of the 10th the first thing I checked on was who was at SS in the field. Sure enough it was still Alvarez.

I've pushed the issue back to Markus for another review.
Thanks for the information. Sweed, can you hang onto a copy of your league file, just in case we need it?

Yes, this was the game just before the all-star break and I happened to backup the entire league in a zip file right after the game.
