Thats because your in the playoffs when its important to see the playoff stats IMO.

The pitch and rating info is the most important info on the screen. You cant remove it.

I think that what this thread proves is that (obviously not for this version but hopefully the next) is that we need customization for these screens. FPS Baseball did everything in windows which you could move around or close altogether. This is 2006 - the OOTP interface should be a little more modern. If we had windowed screens with customizable stat displays, this would be an incredible in-game experience! Didn't Tony LaRussa also let you use the function keys to toggle through different stat sets (season, last season, career, vs. lefty, vs. righty)? I'm just throwing out some ideas. I understand that the game is taking a new direction, but I hope that the people who do like to play out their games don't get left behind in favor of the people who like to see their universes develop more quickly by simming.

Amen! I find the Webcast screen to be quite cluttered. I, too, would like to have a way to customize the data displayed and the font (and font size) used to display them. I know it's asking a lot, but I can dream, can't I?

I agree with fauteuil7. The FPS method of managing the game (multiple child windows contained within a main window) was very nice. I don't know if it's possible in this interface, however.

The biggest amount of space wasted is the stadium dimensions and factors. It's not like we can aim for a short porch in right. The factors are the factors, and don't mean a hill of beans whether or not we can see these tidbits of useless (from a managerial point-of-view) information.

I'd argue this is info I like to see. I always felt it was missing in previous versions and was glad to see it. Now I could see taking it off this screen and putting it on the game startup screen (first screen you see after hitting "manage" game. That way each time you travel into a new city for a series you get a view of the park. Yes, the factors are what they are and I know going into Boston what Fenway will be like. But I play in the NL and when I travel to Texas, Oakland, Seattle, or almost anywhere else I might think I know what they should be but I am more than likely wrong. Having it on the opening gameday screen or as it is now on the webcast lets me see right away if it is a hitters park or if it favors righties of lefties.

Didn't ask to remove pitch and rating info. Recommended including in the player data with all other stats and freeing up the wasted space.

I agree with the original post. A lot of information, but i dont think that much info. The ingame screen for the old versions were much better IMO

Now if we can figure out a fix for the defense box in the Webcast, that will help. Any ideas?
Any ideas on how to edit that graphic and still be able to see the fonts?

Also, battists and Markus, hope you see this and TT # the inability to see the catcher arm rating. The view or fonts need to display just a little bit higher in the window.

All the info in the webcast does help mitigate another issue: speed problems, especially on slower computers. During the 20 seconds or so it takes my system to redraw the screen info for the next batter, I can peruse all the pertinent stats and get that much more immersed into the game. Now, I'd prefer to just play through the way we used to be able to, but it makes things on the order of 4 football fields less frustrating than it otherwise could be.

Bumping to note that Webcast complaints #1, 2, 5 are bugs still needing patched. (#2 is important because you cannot view something as basic as season stats while in playoffs -- the most important info you need about an opponent).

The catcher arm rating #1 does not fit in the screen and cannot be seen.

Bumping this back to the first page. I think rasnell's original concerns are valid, and some other good points have been raised in this thread.

Since none of these issues are bugs per se, it would be nice to get some official word on whether they will be addressed.

Edit: Just noticed that rasnall reposted two of the problems earlier today as separate threads. Let's hope for a response when folks get back to work Monday.

OK, just reading through this lengthy thread.

New patch today. Can anyone tell me, are there any bugs listed in here that are still problematic for you?

Please post suggestions in the suggestions forum, and one bug per Tech Support thread...

Thanks!

Steve

Catcher arm display problem has been posted as separate bug and ignored in public and beta test forum.

Season stat issue while in playoffs just got TTd today. I had posted as a separate bug in technical forum and on dream team beta page. Glad to see this is now acknowledged.

Very frustrating because these are critical, in-game issues.

Markus has claimed that this issue will be fixed in 1.0.3. However, we have not yet received a test version of 1.0.3 with which to verify.

Thanks very much,

Steve

Just my two cents worth.

To be quite honest, I have not played very many games in V2006, but I have played enought games to form a decent opinion.

I really am not fond of either screen. But I have no choice, if I want to play this new version. I just suffer through it, but really don't enjoy the game yet. Maybe with time and the new patch, enjoyment may come.

SION Broadcast and SION Webcast are both flawed with poor graphics, poor fonts, poor content and poor layout. I intend to post suggestions on the graphics forum in hopes something will be done for V2007.

I much prefer the simple and uncluttered OOTP6.5 game screen in all respects compared to V2006. The stats content is also much superior, too.

News stories and PBP in V2006, however, are much superior to OOTP6.5.

Of the two screens, by far, I prefer the SION Broadcast. It is the less cluttered of the two and doesn't have the faded logos to interfere with the text. It only has them on the lower right side, where they don't interfere with the PBP text.

I think the Defensive Lineup is fine on the SION Broadcast. It is much superior to the Webcast graphics.

SION BROADCAST:
hard to read lineup...poor color contrast between the yellow font and black background...I wish the line up and scoreboard were white letters on black with a font that is not dotted...but the stats are clear for the batter and pitcher...not a big deal with most people, but the logos are chopped off. I have spent three years getting my custom logos and now they will be chopped up...this is picky, but the order is wrong for pitcher stats...should be W-L IP H R-ER BB K ERA...that is the standard pattern...batting stats do not list runs, 2B, 3B, BB, SO...current batter is not highlighted enough...it is just a slightly different color from the rest of the lineup...V6.5 is far superior in clarity...another picky point, outfielders on the defensive setup are in the stands, not on the field...I know I can adjust them, but they should already have been adjusted in the default settings.

WEBSITE BROADCAST:
I don't think I will use this very much...faded logos just clutter the screens and make it hard to read text...it doesn't have them under the PBP text either, which is a plus...on the defensive layout the white foul lines block part of the third base name and first base name...when runners are on base, the screen is very cluttered...when the runners are on first and third, the black font on the dark gray background is hard to read...background should be a lighter gray, so the black doesn't disappear...pitch count and strike count is on top of the baserunner on first...runs are not listed in the batting section...would be nice to have AB R H HR RBI BB K listed...for pitching list IP H R-ER BB K HR ERA.

On the substitution screen, it is a big plus to have the scoreboard. I really like this. V6.5 needed this feature. However, there are very poor graphics here...there is hardly any contrast between the player's position and the background. They both are basically the same color, with the position just a tad lighter. But very hard to read.

Note on the Boxscores: Overall the Boxscore is great...but there is a little thing that needs to be fixed...it needs RBI on it...only the BI is listed.

I haven't played a lot of games out either in V2006. Just fooling around with one of the default leagues, and watching the patches.
The font issues are easily fixed. Just find a font you like and replace the default one.
I still have to get used to it, but I don't think the PbP is that much better. A lot of very "strange (and impossible)" calls/plays are made...I miss the "welcome to...etc' from previous versions, with the team records, weather, attendance, and so on. Now the game just starts...Boom!...Also, the PbP doesn't seem to use first names too often... Would love to see drag & drop for placing the players in the fields...would really, really like the RBI back in the box scores...the logo issues don't bother me that much; I mean the faded logos issue. I don't care for the cropped logos...Ok, that's it for me now. Thanks!

Sorry, Steve.

I checked all of those suggestions threads, but didn't see one that applied to the in game screens. That why I put it here.

But I will post my comments in the thread you listed.
