I respectfully disagree with your accessment. The board does not have serious problems. It is not falling apart. It just has a few problem members that don't seem to understand how to disagree in a courteous manner. |

Excuse me. I'm new here. What is going on? It's a game, and it's fun. It cost less than $50 (but a lot of sweat equity, granted). Why am I reading nastiness?
Edit - I wonder if Markus regrets starting this thread. Jeez. Last edited by 1998 Yankees; 08-17-2006 at 03:41 PM. |

slight overreaction to my suggestion that the 15 minutes spent on coding new features could be better spent fixing features that are already there

The drift of this conversation has been fascinating.
None of you fantasy gamers seem to care in the least about the fact that PureSim is doing a better job of addressing the issues of historical simmer, but think that as long as you are happy with the game then everything is peachy-keen and that Charlie Hough and I and the other unhappy customers should just shut up and go away. Plus we should only be able to complain about any given problem only once. And at the same time you really think that no one is trying to suppress any dissent?

Which is what those of us, like Charlie Hough and me, who are unhappy but who have not yet gone so far as to completely write the game off and move on have been doing.

I like how you're attempting to put yourself in the same class of poster as Charlie Hough.

Having said all that I wonder what power these "supressors" have over you or others that air their problems with the game? Why do you let them have the power when there is none there for them to have? The only people that have power over you and can ban you is SI, Markus, or moderators. I have not seen anyone banned unless they broke the posted rules which has pretty much come down to swearing and name calling, not dissent. It's a message board like any other I frequent. Some are jerks some are not. When people post there will be replies, some are well thought out some are not. Some you will like others you won't. I know some don't like your responses and I know you don't like theirs As long as neither of you breaks the forum rules it sounds like the field is level.

as EC, dougiation, and many others have stated, please stay on topic, or the OT board awaits your witty jabs, slings and arrows. So anyone have any other suggestions for potential items that shoudl be looked at?

Bookmarking is already in the game, its definitely the easiest way to tighten up the interface.

I find it interesting that you continue to talk about how PureSim is better yet you are here complaining instead of playing PureSim. The reason that "suggestions" such as yours and Charlies are not often received well is because you are taking issues that the community knows about and are considered issues and throwing around words like "game-breaking" or "unacceptable". "It is unacceptable to have fictional players in minor leagues"..."it is a game-breaking problem to have someone retire at the age of 36 even though they still have decent ratings, etc". Those aren't game-breaking issues...at least not to any sensible gamer. They are things people would like addressed if possible, but if they are causing you to hate the game and/or completely stop playing then maybe that is what you should do. There are many around here trying to help improve this game without making demanding statements or writing open letters to the developers. It seems that you are the one that is only treating these type of threads as being here to serve you and exactly the way that you play the game. There are threads in the suggestion forum that have been created to get every possible suggestion into a spreadsheet where it can be examined and weighed to determine what Markus will attack first. This is the discussion forum and if you can't handle suggestions that are going to be discussed instead of absent-mindedly agreed to then keep yours over there and quit leaning on your "fanboy" crutch since that is pretty much just your way of trying to "suppress" those around here who can like a game that isn't perfect. |
