Where is OOTP most popular?

Colin Cowherd (SP?) was talking about Google trends today on his radio show. Basically you type in a search term and instead of giving you the search results it shows you the rise and fall of the search terms popularity and can even show you news results that coincide with the peaks of the terms populartity.

It also lists the cities where the term is most popular per capita.

OOTP:
http://www.google.com/trends?q=OOTP&...o=all&date=all
Most popular in Philly, St Louis, Seattle, Minneapolis, Chicago, New York.

Baseball:
http://www.google.com/trends?q=Baseb...o=all&date=all
St. Louis, Chicago, Houston, Boston, Dallas...

I'm gratified to see that according to this link,

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/attendance

people in New York actually go out to see baseball in action rather than, or in addition to, sitting at home and googling it! Placing in the top six for searching for OOTP does show our taste and refinement when it comes to baseball simulation games, however.

Yes but you have to remember that the Mets and Yankees both have stadiums that are quite large. Therefore, their attendance totals will naturally be higher than most of the other teams in the MLB.

Click "AVG" on the ESPN list to sort it by average home game attendance. How say ye now, hmmm?

If you double check the link, you will see the Yanks and Mets are tallied seperately and still pull down top spots.

You can also type in multiple terms in Google Trends:

Actually (and seriously), what's interesting about that ESPN chart is that if you click PCT for home games, you will see what I think is the percentage of seasonal attendance capacity filled. Sadly (to me), the BoSox and (ironically) ChiCubs head that list. Small ballparks are a plus in this regard. BoSox seem to be over capacity, SRO, if I am reading it right! My Yankees are only #8 on that list. And forget about major league baseball in the state of Florida (no offense intended). Football23, market size, rather than stadium size, would govern the stats the way I was talking them up, IMO.

Edit - Rockpile, I did not mean to hijack your thread. I will shut up now and take my Yankee-centric ways elsewhere.

When I go to sites that offer geographically targeted advertising (like Google's text ads), they serve up NYC area locations to me.

I'm in Ohio.

"Your terms - puresim baseball - do not have enough search volume to show graphs"

heh, heh

oh, and btw, the 2nd city for "baseball mogul" is Taipei, Taiwan, if any Marketing Wizards might be reading this thread, looking for new markets.

That's funny because when I just checked it, South Korea was far and away the highest region - more than twice the size of the US.

'OOTP' is an acronym that's also commonly used for one of the Harry Potter books.

I've come across that too in OOTP searches..."Order of the Phoenix" ...my question is, why not use the correct "OTP" and leave out the "o" for "of". Harry Potter uses "OoTP"...

"Out of the Park Baseball" did not show enough results, though when I search I use "OOTP" or "OOTP baseball"
