No, it wouldn't. 2-3 years ago Chipper Jones was the poster boy for the Atlanta Braves, now half the town wants him to be traded because they say he is injury prone.

Not a matter of caring, really. Your thoughts often make me laugh, and I could use some humor this evening.

You, however, seem reluctant to answer the pretty simple question I posed to you.

For the edit reason here, did you put "desperately seeking wit?"

No, I wanted to come off as a smartass to you. It worked.

Are you desperately seeking attention? You should really quit attacking posters, me in particular. I made a logical observation between two similar situations and you decided to attack me. You really need to find something else to do. We have a lot of different opinions and views, but I never attack you.

I asked you a simple question about your observation. You chose to get defensive and then, by your own admission, be a smartass.

And you STILL haven't answered the question.

I don't think they should trade him or get rid of him. He is still the best offensive player on the team whenever he is playing. I'm hoping the past 2 years have just been unlucky for him and not because he is injury prone.

Can you two get a room?

Like I said earlier, this came a year too soon. They needed to wait for the arbitration to come.

No, it's fun watching people take their frustrations at life out on a message board.
Hell, we probably all do that in our own way. But the ones who fight a lot are fun. And this one gets us +1's.

On-Topic: David Wright gets traded before 2011. You heard it here first.

That would be my main question as well. I would assume that age 23, with no history of injury, it would be relatively inexpensive to get good coverage on the contract. I mean, Mo Vaughn's was 75-80% covered so I can't see why Wright's contract wouldn't be.

As far as Wright being a lifetime Met, he said that if he could have signed a lifetime contract he would have. While a lot can change over the next few years, you can bet that in David Wright's mind, right now, this kind of commitment to him makes him a Met for life.

Not only is he a fine ballplayer but he's attractive. open and an extremely good interview. He will represent the Mets as well as any player EVER has. You can put that in the books!

Insurance wouldn't help if he just slumps like Pat Burrell, or have nagging injuries that he forces through like Jeff Bagwell.

From what I've heard it's a lot harder and more expensive to get coverage these days and the percent the insurance companies are willing to cover is smaller precisely because of contracts like Moo's. I've seen this reason pinpointed numerous times as to why there are fewer five and six year contracts offered these days.

Wrong. Ever consider seeing a psychiatrist for your overwhelming negativity?
