Why does talent drop with no explanation?

I have had several GM's in my league complain of player ratings dropping without any explanation or quantification (i.e. why and how much it dropped). Why aren't these things displayed like in 6.5?

There is a development report from the teams main HTML page. It shows ratings going up and/or down.

I think he is referring to changes that occur that are not reported n the player development report. There are a lot of them, and many of them are significant. The largest ones that I see seem to be occuring with draft picks between their 1st and 2nd season. I'm seeing declines of 50% and more, with no notification -- and this is after they were fully scouted, both before and after the draft multiple times.

Personally I like that prospects, especially young ones, can drop or rise very quickly and unexpectedly. There are many real first round picks who flop and never make it above A ball. More frustrating to me are the players who go from 66/80 at the ML level and drop to 28/80 as my (former) star shortstop did between ages 26-28. No explanation at all as to what happened. Certainly real players do this, but that drop was catastrophic. The only real negative sign in his ratings was that he had an extremely poor work ethic. I guess he fell behind the league but it's hard to understand a guy with that much talent, three consecutive 60+ VORP seasons at SS, regressing so far, so fast.

I'll have to look into re-naming that player. Good example.
