Thumbs up Official Atlanta Release Party Thread

Need some suggestions and input regarding the party. Should it be at a venue that has computers? Wet or dry (i.e., has a bar)? Location? For those of you who might be able to attend, let me know what your thoughts are.

BTW, anyone got any "ins" with 790 The Zone? Would be really cool to have steak/bell/chris, etc. come visit and give us some pub!

Joe: It's probably not a good idea to host a party at a place that's closing. Check your links.

i'll show up whereever you decide to get together. I'm in Snellville, so it'll be about a half hour jump no matter where it is.

Joe, I will come again if I am free. Computers would be cool, but I like the idea of the beer too.

I live in town so whereever you decide.

Prior to last summer's get together, I was in hot pursuit of Chris Dimino from 790 to join my league Green Monsta (shameless plug) in my estimation, he was this close to joining (visualize hands about 6 inches apart).

I mentioned it to Steve over a beer and believe Dimino with his obsession for baseball would be ideal to get into it. Could work out as free publicity for the game/company here in Atl as well if he were hooked.

I haven't had any openings in quite some time (shameless plug again) to ask him again but will keep him in mind for the future.

Steve

Hmmm. I might try and arrange getting there myself, but my schedule is tricky, and wife and son may not go for it.

Quick update. Not only will Steve Kuffrey and I be there, but looks like Tournament Dreams developer Arlie Rahn will join us as well. As far as the venue, still trying to think of a place with computers. My wife suggested Kinkos. Me: "Um, no."

I'll be there for sure. Looking forward to it. I'd vote for somewhere that serves brew.

To paraphrase Homer Simpson: Mmmmmm. Beer and OOTP5.

A thought about 790 the zone: You know they go to different locations all the time. If it works out that they are doing one of their location shows on the night of the game release, you could always plan on having the party wherever they are going to be. And hope to catch their ear during break and see what happens.

Long shot, I know...

As far as computers go, how many of us have laptops? I have a rather fast one (P4, 2.4GHz, 512MB) that I'm certainly willing to bring to the table. Perhaps with a handful of laptops we can make this happen anywhere we want. I'm also willing to offer up my office, which would give access to two desktops as well as any laptops. However, the beer drinking wouldn't be an option there, as my office is in a church.
