Computer GM not filling rosters appropriately
This is somewhat related to a previous post about maximum roster sizes in the minor leagues, but it has bigger ramifications than just a few extra players.
Playing a 10-team fictional league, each team has an affiliated AAA/AA/A/ShortA/Rookie team. Using patch 2. We are in early May, before the June amateur draft. One organization is signing up all kinds of minor league free agents. The rookie affiliate now has 146 players. However, the AA team keeps gets rid of their players and has 0 on the AA roster. I'll move some up to AA for them so I can continue to the next day, and they'll immediately reassign them all back down to Rookie league. A different organization has emptied all the players from their Short-A and Rookie league teams, but these leagues have not yet begun playing games. All AAA teams have between 23-26 players. All AA teams have between 24-27 players (with the one exception above, 0) All A teams have either 25-26 players. All Short-A teams have 25 players (with the above exception of 0) All Rookie teams have between 21-28 players (with the exceptions being 0 and 146 players) Is there something stupid I'm missing somewhere? I couldn't really find another example of this on the boards via search. |

I control 1 team, the other 9 are computer run. The two 'questionable' teams are both computer teams.
I wasn't using commissioner mode initially. I turned that on and tried filling the empty AA team from the 146-player Rookie team, but on the next day, the computer moved the AA players back to Rookie again. |

Make a copy of this league file. Sim a couple of seasons without making any transactions for th computer run teams. Then, note all questionable transactions into a text file. Post them here with why you believe they are questionable. This is imperative if Markus is going to look at or tweak the AI.
Thanks.

Unfortunately I cannot sim any days. The AI has removed all the players from the AA roster, so I get an error message that the roster size is 0 when trying to advance a day. I moved some players there for 1 day so I could advance, but then they emptied AA again.

I'm pretty sure this issue is already being looked at, but just in case, I logged this again as TT # 2340.
Thanks, Steve |
