A sure way to get in the All star game
I am playing with cubbyfans 6.5 roster and I signed juan Gonzales.(Remember Him) He made it to the all star game with the following numbers.
BA .096 HR 1 RBI's 4 K 7 R 3 He was my lone all star and the only reason he made I believe was because he was a dh on my team. The only problem with him being a dh on my team is that I am in the national league. So I think if you put a guy as a dh on your NL team he will make it to the all star game because he has no competition. Just thought this was funny.

Wow AS, what was the other teammates like? Because if he made the AS game with those stats... the rest of the team must have been horrific.
Could you run another season to AS game and let us know who your candidate was? This doesn't look great at first glance and I am moving this to TS.

I think what he is saying is that he is playing in the national league (with no DH of course) but designated Gonzalez as playing the "DH" position. Thus when the game looked at the national league for positions, it only saw Gonzalez as being the only DH in the national league, so he gets the all-star selection for position of DH.

Dave, the issue is still that is a poor player selection for a team to have in the All Star game.. and that is why the thread was moved.. Still need more info on this, that is why it is here.

Oh I agree, there should not be a selection for a poor player. Just don't have the AI select based soley on the player position of DH, from a league that doesn't use a DH. Unless his numbers are good enough.
Not sure what more info you need. Designate ANY player on your team as DH (change his position to be DH) and no matter what his stats are he will get the all star nod because apparently the game looks at each position, including DH apparently. Usually it will never look at the position of DH in a league that has no DH because NO PLAYER will have the position of DH. They either play a specific position or they sit the bench as utility players. But if a user changes a players position to DH, when the game looks for all star calabir type players at the DH position, then there will only be 1 player available (because no AI team will designate a player as a DH in a league with no DH rule). That is what I am assuming, you could easily test this by changing one of your players to play the DH position in a non DH league and sim up to the all star break. |
