Just curious about some of those tough to swallow win-lose situations you guys have had. Here's mine.....
Top of the 9th, game tied 0-0, none on, no outs. My pitcher walks the first batter to ruin his perfect game. Next batter grounds it hard between third and short, third baseman dives, gets a glove on it, fires to first, but it's to high! Score it E5, runners move to second and third. Next batter hits one deep to center, and the man on third scores. My pitcher strikes out the next two batters to end the top half of the 9th. Bottom of the 9th ends up being 3 up, 3 down. Here's the summary. R H E Away 1 0 0 Home 0 3 1 All is fair in love and baseball. |

That game beats any of the heartbreaker's I've experienced. I would freak if I lost a game in which my pitcher threw a no hitter, espcecially on an unearned run! Guess it has to happen to someone sometime.. glad it wasn't me.

I'm the basement in my challenge league 2 days after buying OOTP3, playing a 3 game series against the top team.
Lose the first one by one run. Winner was scored in the 9th off my closer. Game 2: Tied in the 9th, 1 out. My starter tires. I leave him in. Home run. Starting pitcher injured and out for two weeks. Lost by one run. Game 3: Down by one bottom of the 9th. Great base stealer on 1st with no outs. Went for 2nd. Thrown out, injured on the play. Lost by one run. AAAAAARRRRRRGHHHHH! Not complaining though, I love a challenge. |

We just had a similar situation this past sim in the CBL... Eric's team did it, no hitter and lost 1-0 ;p

Well...I think this is a different topic Ill say it anyway....
A Moment that made me want to chunk my damn PC through my window....I traded 2 of my top players for 2 All Star pitchers...one was the Cy Young winner. 5 games in...BOTH of them had career ending injuries. I dont know if it was a bug or I just got plain unlucky...but regardless...it sucked monkey nuts! |

Was <a href="http://www.thebaseballpage.com/present/fp/al/nyy_worst.htm">Andy Hawkins</a> pitching? It's tough to lose a no-hitter 4 to 0.

I'm from chicago and remember watching that game. I hate the yanks so I was nearly in tears laughing. Of course I wasn't as amused when it happened to me in OOTP!
