Depth Charts

With patch 2 the AI is not complying with my depth chart instructions. In most cases I set up the depth charts so that the backup for most positions is supposed to start if the starter is tired. Starting with patch 2 the computer is simply ignoring the depth charts and using the same players in the starting lineups day after day regardless of contrary instructions on the depth chart.

This is a serious issue since, at least according to the manual, players are subject to greater chance of injury when they are tired.

Is there any way to reinstall patch 1? The game worked much better for me with that version than this one but I cannot find it on your website.

If this is really a problem they'll get it fixed... and if you hadn't installed patch 2 and caught the problem it would get fixed later rather than sooner.
I don't know if it was this one, or another thread about the same issue, but without this being brought up I wouldn't have noticed. Right now I'm just simming through everything.

I have a 1B that is Ripken-like. He played 162 games the first 2 years, and I actually watched for him to be replaced for being tired... he was never tired.
In year 5 (he's played 162 games every year), after reading this, I notice he is getting tired (at one point he was 0% totally exhausted) and went ahead and played in the next game anyways.
I don't have anyone listed as a backup for him... so wonder if that may be a problem... but either way it does obviously happen.
However, I haven't noticed a decline in my bench guys... so maybe it's only guys that are ironmen, and the game doesn't recognize they've turned into copper instead...?

Some new info, if needed.
I've been decimated with injuries this year... and don't like the computer made depth charts. So I've been moving guys into the depth charts without changing how they already were in... in other words, I have a 1B that was set to be the backup for the SS, 3B, and the 1B.

My SS and 3B have not missed a game... have been totally exhausted many times.
So if you don't have a backup listed, or if you have a backup listed that is also listed as a starter it never replaces a tired player. I have a secondary backup for my SS... he still hasn't missed a game for being tired.

As a side note, I wish the game would allow you to set a starter to be a backup at 2B in case the starter is tired, and be your normal starting 3B. So if your 2B is tired your 3B moves over to play 2B and it would bring in the backup 2B to play 2B (or any other combination of positions)... this would allow you to maximize your teams abilities even when having to play a backup. But that's beside the point of the current bug.

I faintly recall from my lurking days last year (or even longer ago) that this was meticulously fixed for OOTP6.5 after similar problems in v6, wasn't it? I could swear it even was battists who drew up a rather common-sense (if complex) set of rules that the depth chart AI should be following...

I take it this stuff didn't make it into 2006?
