Not much to report on tonight...

Other than the fact that I believe I've figured out how to port these puppies straight over into a full world roster set without losing anything.

OK let's try again. I just read the past 10 pages or so. There was one or two questions about minor leaguers. There was a reminder that the minors are not finished. Now if we look at my question I was asking WHERE I could find Pelfrey, a player who wasn't signed on Jan 2. There was no reason to think he's be buried in a SS team. That wasn't mentioned anywhere that I read. It would have taken less time for someone to type "they get dumped in the low minors" than to give me crap about not reading. And if you go back through this thread, I have been reading and posting until a week ago.

Just my opinion, but threads tend to get overly long as much from the thread police scolding people as they do from people asking honest questions.

Cheers Cameron, but I think Cubby sorted it anyway

The minor leagues are not complete. They are messed up. They are not yet included in the functionality of this roster set. They are not yet supported.

Is that clear enough ?

I don't think that's what he was asking. He understands that.

Cut the guy some slack. He was just asking where he could find Mike Pelfrey!

I know, I'm just a bit cranky today.

It's not that difficult. All one has to do is read just the Cubby and Erich posts to be up to date with the project. All the other posts are pretty much filler. So just go back to about page 30, hit the ctrl-f button and type in cubby, read the post(s), go to the next page. And so on. It won't take more than an hour at the most to get caught up with everything.

Is this because you are a mariners fan? Because I know the pain.

Well when yeah got Mike Hargrove as a manager, most of us Mariner fans are cranky. BTW cubby, after I quick play some games and try to view the boxscore, I get this weird error and then a blank page. Does this have anything to do with your rosters, or is it just the game itself?

I get that too. It says something about the box score not being saved/available. I also can't view the game log either.

I see Carlos Zambrano rated as a 57 overall and a 57 potential. Thats not right is it Cubby? Even Jerome williams is a 63/63. I just want to confirm this one way or the other. He should be much higher as he is one of the top pitchers in baseball. Afterall he is 9-3 this year in real life with one of the worst hitting teams in baseball.

By the way, amazing job on this roster set. Both you and Erich are doing great things for the OOTP community.

It has to do with the game itself. You need to go to game setup and change the box score and game log save options for your league so that it saves them. Then you can view them.

Does that mean we can import the roster into our current league without losing any of the roster moves we or the AI has made?

If no one objects, Adrian Gonzalez on SD was a former #1 pick and has done a great job this season both with his bat and especially in the field. I think he is only rated as a 28 or 3 depending on how you set up the stat view. Can this be updated? Also, Ben Johnson's potential is solid, but his current rating is a bit high. He will always start. Pads OF should be: LF Roberts, CF Cameron, and RF Giles. In this set, it becomes LF Giles, CF Roberts, RF Johnson.

But even w/out any changes this set is amazing, I'm really blown away.

As a Padres fan, I DO believe Ben Johnson will be a solid ML OF'er (most likely LF) for years, but right now he's our #5 guy (Dang Bochy's penchant for playing vets - ie Eric Young), but please don't kill BJ's potential too much.

Also in minors (I know you haven't touched them, but Chase Headley is our top 3B prospect - but a few years away. And Cesar Ramos too is highly touted.)

Thanks for your hard work.

Im sorry as a die hard M's fan i find it hard to be cranky while 3 games under .500...especially when Sexson, Beltre, Washburn, Felix, and a few others guy still have alot of room to improve this yr......i agree though Hargrove drives me nuts.....

as long as we stay under 90 losses i consider it a success lol

Don't know if anyone else has these problems or if its just me. I am using these rosters and I love them just had 2 problems.

1. Whenever my scout goes out to find people they never find anyone rated higher then a 33.

2. When I finished the second season(2007) I had 2 pitchers that pitched in 66 games or more and they are both starters. They both lost a min of 32 games.

Also something I think is funny is that the san fransico Giants finished the 2007 season with a record of 29-133.

Bonds was the MVP in my 2006 season. No bueno with me.

Also, is there any way to keep Sosa and Palmeiro from entering the Hall?

Roster clarification

Sorry if someone already posted this, but I thought I would since someone else might be interested. These are some differences I found between your opening day rosters and USA Today’s list. Below are transactions to be made. I believe some of the DL guys are minor leaguers anyway, but this is the data I have. If some of the missing players are in the minors, I don't care, I just wanted to express the discrepancies I found.

American League (NL in progress)
Cleveland
Sabathia not on DL yet
Graves missing
Tadano missing
Phillips should be on DL
Davis should not be on roster
Detroit
Ledesma should not be on roster
(they have one open spot on my opening day list)
Kansas City
Costa missing
Redman should be on DL
Minnesota
Gassner missing (belongs on DL)
New York
Bean should not be on roster
Nieves missing
Seattle
Snelling missing (belongs on DL)
Tampa Bay
Ordaz missing
Rivas should not be on roster
Dunn should not be on roster
Mori missing (belongs on DL)
Texas
McDougall missing (belongs on DL)
Rupe missing (belongs on DL)
Anderson should not be on roster
Toronto
Walker missing
McGowan should not be on roster
