The "you can use the shop player option to rip off the AI" argument doesn't hold any water, because you can do that now in OOTP 2006 if you want to by hitting "Force Trade."
It's on my list for OOTP 2007...

I desperately miss the "shop-player" feature. I used it frequently and was shocked something similar was not available in 2006. I get aggravated when people complain about it being an avenue to ripping off the AI, and thus should not be an option. No one forced you to rip off the AI. I simply do not have the time to enjoy the trading feature as it is currently constituted. It takes me too much time now to actually GM a team.

I can see the game having one Charlie Finley but not 20 of them so I tend to prefer the new system. Slower, but more back and forth and the AI is smarter in what it will take.
Ideally the trading block would be retained - along with the superior AI.

Of course that's right about the AI. I'm not a programmer, but it seems if the AI is improved for the current trading format, it would also be improved for a trading block. Isn't a trading block just a different way of sorting sets of players established by the AI? i.e. it's a filter that shows every player in the league that is valued equal to or greater than the player you're looking to unload. Maybe I'm wrong.

Doesn't matter at this point - looks like there's no way the block will be back until 2007.

The fact that you could determine immediately what players you could receive in exchange for someone you're looking to unload. I hope you're not buying the argument that trading block=ability to loot the AI. If the AI is strong, the trading block can be just as "realistic" an option as the current trial-and-error, back-and-forth e-mail system.

Some that enjoy the minutiae, tedium and micromanaging involved with exchanging dozens of counteroffers with dozens of teams just to determine what you could get for your surplus shortstop don't need the trading block. That doesn't mean it shouldn't exist as an option. To me, it saves tons and tons of time, and I don't think I'm the only one who feels that way.

I play out a lot of my games - yet I don't dismiss the ability to simulate 10,000 seasons in an evening as "unrealistic" and argue that others not be allowed to use it. That's the beauty of this game -customization and options. The trading block is sorely missed along these lines.
