GIMP or Photoshop
Curious how many people use the different programs. I just started using GIMP, but I'm thinking about buying photoshop. But, i'm just curious.

I use photoshop and illustrator.
I find illustrator is a great way to "Re-master" logos from scratch.

speaking of illustrator, for the finanically strapped folks, there is an open source alternative to that. Inkscape (i'm not sure of the link, but you can google it) is free and from what I hear is a pretty good vector program.
I haven't tried using it for OOTP Logos yet, but it sounds like a great way to do it. Last edited by robster1225; 07-14-2006 at 11:44 AM. |

I'm all about FREE! That's why I choose GIMP.

If using existing bitmapped graphics, Photoshop (or PSP or CorelPhotoPaint) is a great program for editting (e.g., adding effects). As for freeware programs, other alternatives can be found at Free Serif Software ... checkout PhotoPlus 6 (~ to PhotoShop) and DrawPlus 4 (~ to CorelDraw). Happy logo-ing!!!

cool, I'm going to keep experimenting with GIMP. I made my avatar earlier today, and it wasn't to hard. I like the result.
