Bingo. That's why I wanted stats to be a reflection of that screen, so if you disagree with a way I rated someone, you don't have to guess as to how to change him. If you want Papelbon to be a 2 ERA guy, you can make him that, or just simply see how certain numbers change guys. It was the main focus of the set.

ok, so I realize I'm being stupid here but how do I load the roster onto the game?. I'm totally new to this kind of thing so if anyone could help me I'd really appreciate it.
I've tried to export the zip file into my ootpb6 folder but I've really got no idea how to load them. |

Gotta help out my team cuz no one else will. Here are a few of my beefs with the Marlins...
Carlos Martinez - Martinez was the Marlins SU man before he got hurt this year. Predicted to be a future closer. Before he got his stats were 10.1 IP with 11 Ks and a 1.74 ERA. Although he walked 6 that is expected from a pitcher who hasn't thrown a single inning in the ML before this year. Hadn't given up a homerun. Had only given up 18 HRs in 260 IP in the minors. I feel the potential on stuff should be up there a decent amount higher and the movement should be a bit higher as well. Dan Uggla - Really upset about this man. I absolutely love this kid. Made the All-Star team and still getting no respect. Hittin .307 with 13 HRs at the break. I no he barely has 70+ games under his belt in the majors but he hit .297 with 21 jacks in AA last year. In '04 he hit around .290 with 10 jacks in A/AA and in '03 he hit .290 with 23 HRs in High A. Kid can hit an will only improve. Would like to see the potential contact up a significant amount with a good bump on the overall as well. Also would mind seing a tad more potential gap and power added. Miguel Cabrera - Maybe potential contact up a lil bit. Hanley Ramirez - Overall and potential contact should be up with a .297 career minor league average and hitting .340 in the majors through May before slumping bad in June. Also not sure how the speed ratings work but Ramirez flys and should have a rating somewhere in the 80s on a 100 scale and a SB Ability in the 70s. Josh Johnson - This man is just completely underrated. Predicated to be a future ace. Heard comparisons to Jason Schmidt. Leading the NL(maybe ML, not sure) in ERA at break. 74 Ks in 85 innings this year. 291 Ks through 360 minor league innings. 42 walks is a bit high but that will lower with experience. Given up 6 HRs this year but only 13 through 360 minor league innings so that is obviously an inflated #. I think the potential on his stuff and movement need a significant increase and potential on his control a decent increase. Also overalls should be bumped up according to potential increase in each. Ricky Nolasco - Having an on and off year in the majors this year but this is another guy that is been predicted to be a 2-3 pitcher when its said and done. 567 Ks in 567 minor league innings. 3.41 career minor league ERA is inflated because an aweful half season in AAA in 2004 where he had a 9.30 ERA in 40 innings. Potential stuff should be a lot higher as well as potential control being a little bit higher. Overall stuff should be higher than what is it now. Cubby please lemme no what you think. Really would like to here your imput. Thanks to you and Rolen. These rosters are beepin great. |

Ms looksee
Atchison - needs a higher stuff rating. Look at his MLB numbers. 36Hs, 45Ks, 15BBs in 37.3IP. His projections don't seem to match his actual profile. Beltre - his power potential should be quite higher. He, after all, has shown the ability to hit for monster power before. Betancourt - contact talent should be slightly higher. With his super low K rate, he has the potential for a .300 average. Also, his def. rating at 2B should be at least as high as it is for SS. Bloomquist - stealing bases should be higher he's 41 for 49 in his career. His power should be lower. He's never come close to a .350 SLG Cabrera - higher discipline talent. He was running a huge isoD. Also, he's regarded as just a step below Betancourt defensively. His rankings there should be much higher. Carvajal - control rating should be lower, he's been wild in the low minors Guardado - should probably have his ratings reduced, especially against RHB. Hernandez - I think his stuff talent should be quite higher. Lopez - needs to have higher talents. His projections are pretty much pegging his season so far but the kid's like 22, he still has room to grow. There should be higher talent in all areas. Lowe - endurance should be higher, he's been used as a starter before. Stuff potential should be higher. His K rates this year have been electric and he physically has the stuff to back that up, high 90s FB, plus slider, plus change. Also his ratings should probably be higher. He's gone from high A to Seattle in 4 months. Mateo - control rating should be lower Meche - legitmately a different pitcher this year. His stuff potential needs to be a lot higher. He's always had great stuff, just been too big a headcase to use it. Much improved in that respect this season. Pineiro - movement and control should be lower. He's not running 2:1 K/BB ratios anytime soon. Putz - see Meche. Completely different pitcher. He added a splitter this year. His stuff and control should each be upped a bit. Also, his endurance should be higher. Reed - much higher OF range, lower arm. Rated by Dewan as one of the top 3 CFers last year in terms of covering ground (with Rowand and A. Jones). His ratings (not his talent) should be lower. He's shown he isn't ready to produce at the major league level yet. Snelling - should have higher gap talent and his ratings should be nearly maxed to his talent level. He's produced when healthy. Suzuki - gotta bump that contact up. Only .315? He's a career 330+ hitter and isn't showing signs of slowing down. Also, he's extremely durable. His injury proneness should be really low.

I only went through the 40-man. Are you soliciting comments on the whole systems at this point or only the 25/40 man rosters?

As a diehard D'Backs fan, I have some info on some of the players that you may be able to use.
I think Brandon Webb could use some modification. His endurance should be rated a little higher. His rookie year he only got 29 starts, yet he still threw 180 innings. He has been over 200 innings the last two years and will be there again this year. His stuff rating should also be increased, as he does get a fair amount of strikeouts. 172, 164, 172 are the strikeout totals in his first three years. He's on pace to finish with 191 this year. His ERA seems to be a little high as well. Including this years stats, his career ERA is 3.22. His top pitch is a sinker, followed by the fastball, a curveball and then a slider. So his pitch selection should be changed. One last thing that should be changed is his groundball %. No one is even close to his groundball to flyball out percentage. It's currently at 60%, it should be closer to 85% as that is how he records pretty much all of his outs. It's either a K or a groundball out. Luis Gonzalez should see a ratings drop all across the board. He is nowhere near the player he used to be. Overall, a fantastic job. I'm glad to have the rosters and appreciate everything you've put into them! |

ahhh, that reminds me, Felix's GB rate should be in the 60% range.
above, Webb's GB% is in the mid 60s pretty consistently. 64.3, 65, 66.2 2004-6.

does the GB % in the game take into effect strikeouts as well? I guess I was just looking at it from a GB to flyball ratio.

Meche has always blown up in the end and he has yet to show something that will allow anyone to say it's not happening this year. It's his contract year. Whatever anyone might say, contract years are just that extra incentive, especially for the headcases, to up the ability a few notches. While his "stuff" has always been thought of as great, he hasn't shown it much throughout his career. I would say that his 7.34 K/9 this year is about the peak of his potential stuff-wise. And it might easily go down considering the previous 2 points. I love the Mariners, but I can not have faith in Meche any more. I've been his appologist until last year. Now, he's just a hack I would gladly exchange for a 1st rounder in the off-season. |

Uggla has been lucky BA wise. His H% is 33%, the norm is 30. Therefore his xBA (expected BA) would be about .285

I would probably have to agree with you on all fronts, including Nolasco, who I saw in our minor league system before we forked him over to you.

In looking at the Reds, I was wondering if you might consider adding these players...unless of course, they are there and I can't find them:
Grant Balfour Andy Abad Richie Gardner Chris Gruler Thomas Pauly Rafael Gonzalez Jung-Keun Bong Also, I couple of minor things in the minor leagues: Jeremiah Piepkorn - spelling Travis Wood - he's listed as Travis Woody, which is funny for a couple reasons. Thanks again! Last edited by KySteveH; 07-12-2006 at 11:09 PM. |

By the way, I don't have the roster set, because I'm waiting for a good release down the road, but here's what Felix Hernandez throws, just in case you don't have his full arsenal.
4-seamer 2-seamer Curve Change Slider The fastball has been clocked as high as 100, but he usually sits in the 95-97 range, hitting 98 on occasion. His only problem is control. I know, it doesn't show up in the stats, but that's it. Hitters don't walk because they either ground out, strikeout or get a hit before it gets to that, but most of the hits were on bad pitches. Not horrible, like some other guys, but just enough of a miss to make is a hittable pitch. I don't know how you would implement that, but that's what he is right now. If he solves this control stuff, and I expect him to do it as soon as his next start (2nd half comeback), he can post an ERA in the 2s, with 2 BB/9 and 9+ K/9. Along with a 65% GB/FB ratio. His "potential" is pretty much unlimited, but once again, it is all relative, still it should be, in my opinion, higher than Liriano, Kazmir, Cain and, frankly, any other pitcher in the database. But I'm biased, so take it as you will. |

his pecotas are off the chart, he has pure power and a awesome eye.... He may not have as much power as Cabrera but he will end up being a 30-35 HR hitter. You also have to remember that his current stats are in Dolphins stadium, not exactly a hitters park. |
