Lightbulb Lebron James has been suspended

James is suspended for the remainder of the season by the OHSAA. Surprising considering all the money they were gonna make off of him during tournaments but the right move.

incredible. that must be because my monthly newspaper cover story on him has just hit news stands today.

well, it will either make the paper more desirable or less so...

That's the right move. If the boys in Ohio didn't crack down on him now, it could have brought up similar situations across the country.

My question is what would have been the punishment if it wasnt James. I know I have seen a few examples here in Michigan where the MHSAA just requires the player to return the merchandise.

i could care less what the punishment would be for someone else.

James did somethin wrong. I don't think he was aware of the rules, but regardless he did somethin wrong. Any highschool player should be punished the same.

The only thing I don't agree with is the happiness behind this. It's amazing that so many people on this board convince themselves to be such moral people yet still hope this man's career is a bust.

What a sad, sordid mess. The kid gets a pass on the $80,000 vehicle that everybody knows had to be dirty and then goes down for accepting $800 worth of jerseys that probably had fake athletes' signatures on 'em anyway.

Well then, that is sad. I don't want the punk to bust either.

I just think he should follow the rules, which are simple. The fame and gifts can wait.

what the hell made him a "punk ?" Should he be quietly saying yessir/nosir to the ppl profiting of him? Have you actually heard
a damn thing from Lebron himself which makes him a punk ?

What pisses me off is that the school has been able to "capitalize on his athletic fame" by playing on ESPN and having their games broadcast on PPV, but he can't.

Basically, being an amateur means that everyone can make money off of your abilities but you.

Yeap.

His school can make $30,000/game if someone wants to play them at their opponents school. His school moved his games from their gym which holds about 2,000 to Akron U. gym which holds around 6,000. The state always moves his tournament games to bigger venues so that they can pack more people and make more money. Its okay to have his games on pay-per-view, ESPN, ESPN, etc.

But he can't accept 2 replica jerseys.
