Very old foreign scouted players?
Patched on a P4, 3.2 GHz, 1 GB RAM, lots of HD space avail, ATI Radeon X300 card with 256 MB vid RAM.
OK I am not sure if this just started or what the deal is however I have a 16 team fictional league set in the US will the AAA, AA, A, SS A and R A leagues affiliated with it. I simmed 40 years to get a league history before stepped in and started as the GM. What I did was create a new GM with my name and deleted old Joe Unknown. I took over a franchise and immediately set about scouting other nations for talent. I took my head scout and he is on a continuous mission of scouting my organization. My other 5 scouts have been sent off to scour for talent in Cuba, Dominican Republic, Japan, Mexico and Puerto Rico. Here are the 1st three finds: Alberto Matos has returned from his trip to Dominican Republic having discovered Ceserio Funez a 55-year old center fielder. Glen Riseley polished off his scouting report of Puerto Rico earlier this evening, noting how 58-year old starting pitcher Cesario Peza had grabbed his attention. Brad King found a 63-year old right fielder in Japan. This I believe is a bug. |

I have this same bug.
The only difference on mine is that my fictional league was simmed for 60 years. The foreign prospects that I "discovered" were ages 83 (from Puerto Rico) and 85 yrs old (from Japan). I also noticed that when I made a GM to take over a team the earliest date I could use for his Birthdate was 1920 (the year my league was started). I was in the year 1980 at the time of my attempt. not sure if the two are related but I thought it might help to mention it anyhow.

I just created what I had hoped to be my solo league, and when I created a manager, entering the year to make him (me) 30 years old, the game made him (me) 133 years old. I know I was trying to make myself younger than in real life....but I am not 133 years old, I promise you!!!

As your scouts are drunkards, and are trying to justify their expense reports, they often "find" guys in a bar somewhere they claim are "talent".
This was flagged as TT#1828. Remember, you have to audit your scouts expense reports regularly! Why do you think it takes them 4 months to scout Aruba? It's not because of the ballplaying talent. If you look at their purchases closely, you'll find far too much cocoa butter oil lotion for just one person. |

I just ran into this as well. My scount in Puerto Rico found a 111-year-old 2nd baseman. He's been retired since 1916 (my universe started in 1905), and when I try to sign him, my only option is to Induct him into the HoF (laughable, since he wasn't "discovered" until his great-great grandson tipped my scout on to him, and he has 0 days as a professional).
And when I started managing, the latest year I could select for my birthday was ... you guessed it ... 1905. I'm 89 years old now ... I take it this was another thread not moved to the current TT forum? Or is it closed?
