If I had one major complaint about this game...

...it would be that there's essentially 2 interfaces (the main interface + SION). And it's quite difficult to navigate between the 2 of them. And one of them (SION) is of virtually no use to me as an in-game interface, as it isn't interactive (I.E. I can't change scouting reports, make transactions, or anything from a SION player page). I find it odd that the html export interface has found it's way smack-dab into the middle of the game. Any game with two different back buttons which can move you to two entirely different places is bound to cause some frustration.

I love the game so don't get me wrong. I'm just wondering what the idea was here? Anyone else find this a major disturbance to the flow of your gameplay? I always find myself having to remember to right-click on a player in the transactions log page in order to send him to my active roster after a trade, and if i forget, then it'll take me to his SION player page, where i usually hit the main back button instead of the SION back button which will take me all the way back to my team's main page, where I have to navigate all the way back to the transactions log page and THEN right click.

Other than this I find the games' problems minor, patchable, and not overwhelmingly disruptive to my gameplay.

Can't say it has bothered me. Took a few misclicks but then it was simple enough to see that the back buttons only controlled the page or screen they were actually on. Not a big deal to me once I understood how it worked.

YMMV

It took some time to get used to but I am now at the point where I like the interface.

I can see where you are coming from typewritermender (nice name).

One of the things we've discussed recently is the interface and how we can make things a bit simpler for next years version. I'll bear this in mind when we do that.

I agree with this totally. I find myself many times wanting to see the player page instead of the html page and visa-versa. It is kind like there are two games at work and you never know when clicking if you are going into game or html. I think they both have their places...perhaps it would be best if the majority of the time you were in game pages and only when you got into the history mode you got the html pages. Maybe the history page could be set-up as if you are logging onto SION.Com or something along those lines.

Very good insight Mr. Typewritemender.

As I've said elsewhere, I'm also hoping for a better integration of the two views in the next version. Much like Sweed I've started to get used to it, though by no means is it what I'd consider ideal right now.

I agree as well. I wish that clicking on a team would take you right to the teams roster page, instead of their SION home page. There are other examples of this, but it is the one I could think of off the top of my head.

I'm just glad that the talk about next year's version is in the affirmative rather than something like, "If we do a version next year..."

The original poster makes an excellent point. I'm constantly getting the wrong screen. Overall, however, I like the feel and look of the new interface. Very sleek.

Am I missing something?

When I pinch hit for my pitcher and then take the field I am locked in and can't see who's at bat for the other team so that I can bring in the proper pitcher. I must make the pitcher change then it unlocks.
