Wow a game with lots of shiny graphics getting a better review then a text sim. ther'es a surprise. That and the fact that game reviews are on the same par as movie reviewers doesn't ralyl help your point much.

Honestly, when you think of sports games what share of the market (and we'll be generous and just say PC/MAC here) is held by text sims? 5%? 10%? I marvel that anyone reviewed OOTP at all.

market share I won't aruge with, as I"ll agree that text sims won't have a alge market, and will stay that way unless a major shift in the target demographic presents itself.

However, my point was that having a game review rag or site have a 3D game beat out a text sim that has a lot more features is not surprising. the majority of gamers are into the type of game that MLB 06 provides, and game rags know their market.

Oh I got that totally. That's why I said I'm surprised they even bothered covering a text based sim at all since A) that's not what their market desires and B) their market is much larger than ours.

maybe the market is growing? Sweed's post in another thread shwos that there is a hhealthy one out there for text sims regardless of sport, so hence a possiblity of why it was covered.

along with trola, quadolas, and quinolas too

as for most of them, far form it. For that you need to look in the WC thread and the TWB thread in the dynasty section.

I know for a fact that Solonor and Jarmenia ( the ones that have gone public in some fashion ) have made a big impact. Jarmenia in particular has done yeoman's work and brooked no guff, repeatedly documenting SI was in error.

There are others; more obessive folk than those guys.

In my defense, I also point out when they have gone right.

They are paying quite a bit of attention to Jarmenia's graphing of issues. There's a lot of plumbing work being done because of his data.

Myself, I like it when you point out what's wrong because of the data collected and the presentation of it.

Admirable ability to stay on topic but as you might've noticed the thread strayed a wee bit.

I figured rather than starting a new thread to ask what this one was about... I would just ask here.

Apparently that was confusing.
