The stars do exist, as Carplos said, just in a different form. They're numbers just like ratings now... but you can't see these ratings like you could the stars in any regard. You can only see them in transaction windows and the player card, and not sortable. Just need to make them viewable in any ratings screen and it should make people happier.

Definetly the set depths charts based on this lineup.

And a couple of small things on the simulating screen:

Under the MAL Standings you have Record/Win%/Games Back. I actually miss where it listed what the teams current streak is. I found it fun to see what team was on a 15 game winning streak or 10 game losing streak by just glancing at the listing.

Also on the screen was the teams last 10 game breakdown. 5-5,9-1, etc.

I also liked where it listed the current hitting streak for players under league leaders though I can see why it was dropped for space considerations.

Star ratings. - These were invaluable for online play.
Trade block & Shop player
Milestones and Projected leaders
Minor league report

and finally, this probably isn't possible for patch 2 but later down the road what about giving us a choice between the current interface and more traditional OOTP feeling one?

I miss the PBP announcing whenever there was a pitcher, pinch hitter, or fielder change.

Being able to sort players by their overall rating the way we could sort by star ratings in the previous versions would be nice. Also, having the overall rating available when scouts are not used.

- AI evaluation based on ratings and stats, and the 3-yr stat evaluation distribution that came along with it.

I really liked where it told you if a team was rebuilding or having a "Win Now" attitude.

These and the generate depth charts from line-up.

Oh, and it may already be in the patch, but the ability to leave a player on the trade screen as you shuffle through potential teams to trade that player for.

And to be able to sort/view overall rating and potential rating.

Another vote. I like being able to tweak the percentages like in 6.51. I think you could tweak it between ratings, current stats, last year stats, and 2 year old stats.

Being able to select how the AI values players.

And all of the other missing features as soon as you can get to them, please.

1. Play by Play mentioning things about the game such as "This is the World Series" or "The Astros have won the League Championship." Those were always cool in 6.5.

2. E-mails telling when a player is ready to activate from the DL list.

3. E-mails from players announcing their impending retirement.

4. E-mails from players complaining about playing time etc.

5. Injuries in the news articles.

6. OOTP 6.5 wasn't as addictive so I didn't miss as much work time.

Lockable team strategies. Or the option to play with "managers" who bring a general set strategy with them to the team w/o coaches who affect player development. Ability to hold/send runners on FB's, minor league reports.

- trade block
- transaction screen with all minors (and DL/DFA) on screen, similar to the old ootp system
- minors report with scout suggestions
- a "create depth chart from lineups" option....haven't seen this yet, not sure if I missed it or not

According to some posts I've seen, there seem to be too few developmental changes compared to previous versions, which makes things far too predictable. If late-round picks never amount to anything, what's the point in even keeping them around?

- Star-like system that is available on the draft screen as well as screens with custom views and filters, and is also available if you have scouting turned off.

- Define your preferred pinch-hitters
