Question

well i am dieing to play this game but it just runs waaaaaaaay slow on my crappy computer, so ill have to waite to get my new one within the next few weeks.

I bought the game about a week or so ago, so when i get my new computer can i just transfer the OOTP2006 setup that installs the game on the computer to my new computer, then just put my code back into the setup?

dont know if that makes sence as I dont know to much about computers lol

As long as you've only licensed one copy, then yes.

If you're not going to use the old computer, you'd be best off unlicensing it from that, so you have a spare license, just in case.

There's several things in these forums that help speed up the game.
Disabling the news ticker.
Changing the drop down menus from automatic drop down when you hover over them to you actually clicking them.
And something to do with indexing the files in your OOTP directory...

The news ticker didn't help me much, changing the drop downs sped it up a LOT, and disabling the indexing thing has me running quite fast (still nothing compared to OOTP5... but fast enough that I don't go to sleep while waiting.

Don't know if you've tried those, but anyhow...

Never tried it, but have no reason to think eriqjaffe is wrong from what I've read everywhere else.

If by "transfer" you mean just copying the entire OOTP2006 folder, then no. You'll have to reinstall the game properly on the new computer, enter your license information again, and afterwards you can copy any customized data you might have from your old setup (ballparks, logos, schedules, quickstarts, save games).

Do make sure to unlicense your old computer.

Go to your contrl panel and right click on the elicense icon and click on unlicense. This will allow you to install it on a second computer (your new one and another one) in future if necessary.
