Player Photo Problems
Okay, here is what I did. I downloaded a bunch of player photos, used irfanview to convert them and assignment player_####s, and then I copied them to my league image file. there were 2280 pictures for about 1200 players (small league). I assume the player numbers start at 1 and move forward. Is this a bad assumption? I am going to figure out how to double check the play id numbers, but it may take a while as I am the computer equivalent of Elmer Fudd. I guess my question is, where did I go wrong?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions. I really feel like I am missing out without the photos. |

I might be wrong, but for the photos to show up they need the players name assigned.
adam_dunn and they need to be in .jpg form. tks |

The customization guide says we can mix and match. I opend the cvs file and found that the players are numbered 1 to 1632 (league was a little bigger than I thought). I am going to try the name thing now.

I don't know if this is where you went wrong but it's how I screwed up the first time.
in irfanview set the name pattern to player_# , not player_#### when converting. |

Yeah, I did that and the numbers were 0001; then I fixed it, that that they start at 1. I just tried the name thing and didn't have any luck. Could the image file be corrupt or something?

Just so I'm sure of what you're saying.
All your photos are named player_1.jpg, player_2.jpg, player_3.jpg etc... You've placed them in the \data\saved games\MYLEAGUE.LG\news\html\images folder Provided both of those are correct, what is happening? Default photos? Logos? Anything?

I have exhausted my computer knowledge on this issue...tried everything and the thing that kills me is when I look the the .lg images folder, there they are, almost 2,000 properly sized and properly named player photos, smiling at me, laughing almost, as if to say,"Loser, everyone else in the OOTP community has us, but you are too slow to figure it out!"

Sorry, Hammy. But this just isn't making any sense to me. Not that it's beyond the realm of possibility that, for whatever reason, it doesn't work for you. But let's do this to make sure. Can you click on one of your images (in that directory), right-click, select Properties, under the General Heading copy and paste the Location into your reply, please?
I just want to take a look at both aspects and see if there's anything I'm missing. A guy's just gotta have photos. Lemme know when you can. Thanks.

Okay, so next question is this: Where are you at this point in time in play? Start of the Inaugural Draft? And, at this point, are you looking at the Player Profile page? If you are past the original draft and 'into the season' can you tell me what other pages you are viewing and what shows up on them? Whether it's the default player photo or a team logo?
Thanks for hanging in there. This is such an unusual incident, either it's just too obvious, I'm too blind or dense, or a combination of both. But we'll get it figured out. Everything in your properties looks right. And photo size is 90x135, right? I'd assume that if you downloaded them in pack, but thought I'd ask just the same.

Yeah I feel like I am blind or something, like there is an "enable player photos" button I haven't pushed. (there isn't, is there?). The photos I put in after the draft, but before spring training. I didn't think it mattered, but perhaps it does. I am now a couple weeks into the season. When I click on a player I get the team logo (which is better than ghost guy). I have team logos installed for the major league level and triple A. The photos come from Tigerfans 1901 and 1902, as well as a larger grouping of 1900 and 1910 photos. There are all 90 x 135. I started the league without them because I just couldn't hold off any longer (spent the first few weeks doing test leagues and learning the game), but it doesn't feel right yet; I don't know my players because I can't see them. Silly, I know, but it will make a huge difference for me.

The only reasonable explanation I can think of is that your players outnumber your photos and you're clicking on players without corresponding photos. It's a stretch, but it's posible. I know you said in your original post that ratio was almost 2:1 for photos, but let's check it this way to be sure. This is starting to be on my mind way too often. You can't be the only one it's not working for in the community.
![]() Can you do a dump through the Tools, open it up and identify a couple of players by ID#, do a quick check (again) to make sure you do have the jpgs for those ID#s or do the reverse look up ID#s you're sure do have jpgs. Then go to the Search box, find the player, click on him and see if his photo shows up. There is an instance where the logo does show up instead of the player's face, but I can't recall right now. I'll look when I get home tonight and see if I can locate what you should see where. But for now, let's at least verify the ID# match with the player's photo ensuring he has one. Lastly go to the info for database and see how many players it shows listed there to make sure it is actually 1200 or so as you think. If it says 4290 or something, then we may be on the right path.

Something is amiss....I have in the data info, 3912 players, but when I do a csv dump I get only 1632 players...In the player search portion of the game it says I have 1632 players....In data info it also says I have 54 teams when I only 48.

Well I decided to do a quick league set up and copied all of my pics into that league without messing with anything, and then I create the csv file so I could check player IDs and then of course, when I make a reference check for player_1.jpg, I only get ghost guy! Does it matter that my photos still say they are paint shop pro 7 files? Still lost....

Sorry, I was mistaken (I was at work for the second last post...I had converted all the files to png files, but they still say player_7.jpg . When I change player 7 to Chris_Keller.jpg, or .png, I got the team logo again. I used irfan view to convert them. I wonder if I should just redownload the picks again and start from scratch...totally remove them from my image folder and add them again. I will try it and get back to you.

Well that didn't work...but I did replace the default player pic in the skin folder, and that did work, but only for a free agent player. Any player on a team has the logo for that team as his picture. So it seems to me like the logo files are overiding the player photo for some reason. Has anyone ever seen this?

Just spent an hour uninstalling and reinstalling the game to no avail. Its late. I don't want a refund on the game, but if someone could give me 6 or 7 hours back, that would be fair. I cant even eliminate ghost guy...he reappeared on me. How do you spell "Weaghnh?"
