Rule 5 Draft

Downloaded the patch at start of a new season and when it came time for the rule five draft in december again, it never happened. The league events page didn't show it was supposed to happen and the draft never in fact took place (checked league pull down every date till the winter meetings).

I had already confirmed that the rule V option was enabled.

???

For me the draft occurred for the first season, but not the three since.

TT#1770 Update please

Running the patch. Skipping my rule V draft even though the option has been enabled. Just looking for an update here.

Rule 5 Draft

The rule 5 draft only happens after the first season and never again.

I am using the patch.

You sure you have spots on your 40 man roster? I think if your 40 man is full you just don't participate in it.

I dont even bother filling the 40 man up anymore because I know people will not be drafted because there is no draft.

hmmm . . . that's not the way I've always thought it worked. Since a rule 5 draftee would need to be immediately added to the active/40man rosters, it seems a 40-man spot would need to be open. What's your take on this, MParty?

You can pick, but they way the draft works is that you can skip a pick whenever you want. So, in a given rule 5 draft there may be only 20-30 picks in the draft. I do believe however, you can make a pick and then move someone off your 40-man.

According to the manual, a spot must be available on the 40 man roster to be able to choose a player. (pg 292)
But there should still be a draft, unless every team is full.

You are 100% correct. From a Baseball America article, I have the following quote.
Quote:
Teams must file their 40-man rosters by Nov. 20, and only those not at the full allotment of 40 may select players.

maybe the rule v draft is being skipped because all teams (including the human controlled ones) have full 40 man rosters?

The thing is....you know how on the top right it has like a schedule of the next few events? The Rule 5 draft isnt even there, and I know for a fact that my 40-man has not been full everytime.
