Marc-thanks for being spot-on with the support (as you are with all SI products. You guys must work hard or something.) So far, I've only great things to say about my experiences with SI.

Question-if we order with the E-sellerate module, do we still get the discount up to the date? (yes, I forgot to preorder).

As for the six month thing-I'd assume it'd work since thats how FM and EHM both work as well. Hence the term "try and buy." You try it, take a break at 6 months to enter in your credit card info, then keep on chugging away trying to find the next great prospect.

And the $5 thing? Thats because they probably pay a per-transaction fee to those people. Basic business. No need to complain about it-if you email SI, you'll have a response within at least a day.

Just chill man. Its all good.
I guess I'm coming off too strong, but their is do much excusing of a business while supporting their 'basic business' charges. Once upon a time, people bought something and received it. As noted in the post above, those who preordered weren't notified it was available to dl. I only discovered it in the forums. What should I expect for my purchase price? They expect me to pay before I can play their game, so I paid. I don't believe their is a conspiracy to inflict pain on me or ruin my antisocial life <grin?>.

I'm airing my issues here in a forum and topic devoted to this issue, not smearing them wherever I can. I'm sure lots of people are a little disappointed they preordered and couldn't play. I'm delivering that message to the person marketing the game. I'm guessing SI isn't thrilled with esellerate and are letting them know about it. Feedback hopefully breeds improvement. I'll try not to post again about this, but respect that everyone isn't eager to pay for things they don't get as expected while others are getting what they paid for.

I'm disappointed, too, ygarak, but let's not forget who we are. We're Mac users who get access to games on the first run only about 2% of the time. At this point, I'm not one to look a gift horse in the mouth. Waiting one more day is much better than waiting for 365 just to find out that they weren't even thinking of us at all. Just the fact that they considered us from the beginning gives them lots of goodwill in my book.

I feel really sorry about this, mac dudes.

I have an uncle in Oneonta ( Oneonta,12328,206,New York,42.45,-75.07) that I have been chatting up about this game title, and it would be a bummer for him to see that this got bollixed for a day.

OOTP 2006 for the mac came out much faster for you guys than regular titles, right?

Sorry guys. I have to take the blame for this one. It's my fault. I NEVER pre-order, but I was so amped up for this game that I went ahead and did it.

I've learned my lesson.

Pile on if you must.

The thing is, you CAN play. 6 months. If you get through more than 6 months in an evening, more power to you. If you just install and play, by the time you need to worry about it, it'll all be sorted.

I don't mind waiting another day. That's what I get for using my credit card at 2am...

Well I've been playing this demo, and I am thrilled. I started in the 1998 season with the Red Sox since no current rosters are available yet and I am having a blast. I created a huge universe so there is a mix between real and fake players which is a nice twist to the history. I signed about three real good foreigners (which is kind of concerning that there was such good talent easily availavle, even though I failed to sign some...but I probably don't have all the settings down yet since I just jumped into the game). Anyway, point is, I am having a great time, and really hope I can continue this season from the demo in the real game. Also, whenever I used to play Football Manager, I would enjoy it and appreciate its depth, but could never get fully into it since I didn't know much about soccer. I would always find myself wishing for a similar baseball game, which is what this is to me. I've played previous OOTP versions but got a Mac over a year ago so I am just thrilled that this version is on the Mac.

In the end, thanks for this game because I am having a great time.

What database are you using? Lehman doesn't work with the Mac version.

Yea, I have to agree with that statement. This is the second game I've bought for my Mac, got my G5 tower last Marh. The first was World of Warcraft.

The only thing I miss from my PC are the games, so when we do get one like this at about the same time as the PC release I'm more than willing to give them a little slack to get thigns running. It sounds like it'll be an easy fix.

I had similar import problems with Lehman 5.3. I used Arod/Garlon at http://home.comcast.net/~brucec23/OOTP/index.html or try Ankit at http://www.baseballmaelstrom.com/ankit/

Keep in mind, too, that us mac people aren't just waiting an extra day to play this game, we've been waiting since 5/31 for our crack at it.

To have to wait due to what appears (to me, at least) to be a fairly large oversight is what rankles me.

I tried using Lehman a few times and it didn't work, but everything went fine when I used Arod/Garlan's.

I'd give you 99.9% certaintity that you will have no problems at all. The demo saves games exactly the same way as the full version. So if you wanted to get things all set up and saved, you should most definately be able to do this.

LAHMAN 5.2 SHOULD WORK FINE, if you hadn't already noticed that elsewhere.

I've just implemented the change. There will be a button at the bottom of the startup/entry page that will bring up a dialog that lets you enter the serial number.

We're testing just now, more news to follow.

It is an oversight, yes. Originally we did the eSellerate code as an integrated purchase only, but when Duffy wanted to have the web store as an option with the 10% discount, our understanding of the system meant that we weren't aware that this change was required.
