to those who pre-ordered the Mac version
...you seem to have uncovered a slight flaw in the plan and you cannot enter your order code to activate the game.
Im working with E-sellerate on this now. Those who download and order the mac version now will have no problems, this only affects pre-orders. I hope to have a fix tonight, but more likely (if we have to rebuild the package) it will not be till the morning (UK time) my suggestion to you is to spend tonight building your dream universe and carrying on with it tomorrow. Many many apologies marc |

This is, to say the least, annoying. When will the package arrive tomorrow? Perhaps you should offer to let us purchase again and refund tomorrow since the error is yours and not ours.

If we use the demo for the six month trial, will we be able to continue our universe afterwards?

I guess there isn't any benefits in pre-ordering.

Man, I can just imagine the look on Marc's face when he realized that he was going to have to post this thread.

Preordering was strongly marketed and encouraged and the product was delivered in a state that you cannot utilize all it's function if you preordered. If you haven't noticed, OOTP charges $5 extra to add any human interaction into the ordering process. I'm not sure why we shouldn't expect that the installation process go smoothly. It's not some rare and unexpected bug that only cropped up after heavy use. I'm frustrated that I was given a date to expect the product, encouraged to preorder and then experience any penalty for anticipating things to go smoothly when I could have waited and had a smoother experience. I think folks that preorder tend to be a more loyal breed and should expect more than a 10% discount and a malfunctioning and delayed product. My 2 cents, I'm not pretending to speak for every mac user. |

You are a bummer dude.
Chill out. Its not as if SI has a huge master plan to piss you off. So what, your game doesn't work. Go outside. Make a friend. Marc-thanks for being spot-on with the support (as you are with all SI products. You guys must work hard or something.) So far, I've only great things to say about my experiences with SI. Question-if we order with the E-sellerate module, do we still get the discount up to the date? (yes, I forgot to preorder). As for the six month thing-I'd assume it'd work since thats how FM and EHM both work as well. Hence the term "try and buy." You try it, take a break at 6 months to enter in your credit card info, then keep on chugging away trying to find the next great prospect. And the $5 thing? Thats because they probably pay a per-transaction fee to those people. Basic business. No need to complain about it-if you email SI, you'll have a response within at least a day. Just chill man. Its all good. |

Pre-ordered, but got no notice that the game was now available
I guess that's a good thing, given the problems that occurred; but I do want to know, tomorrow, when the fully working Mac version is available. So, I'm just going to post my e-mail here, hoping that will do it. fthomas7055@charter.net
