Confused newbie

Ok, I played previous versions of OOTP, and while I'm waiting for my CD to come in the mail, I've come up with a couple questions about leagues and how you can mix and match them:

1. Can I import, say, the 2005 season from the Lahman database, then add real minor leagues and foreign leagues to that (obviously I'd have to create the rosters for those myself), maybe some fantasy leagues as well?

2. The "quickstarts" that I will download from somebody else; can I edit them?

3. Can I add/delete leagues from these quickstarts?

4. If not, can I download a full league, one that I can mix and match with other leagues, instead of a quickstart?

That's about it, thanks.

Regarding #1, the game will create the necessary players and rosters for any league you add to the historical season. Please be aware, some of the fictional players created for those other leagues will be better than some of the real players and find their way into the real league (the 2005 season in your question above). In my tests, roughly 30% or more of a team's roster were fictional players and that was just importing the 1982 season and adding full minors only to it.

Hope that helps.

Thanks! That makes me feel much better, actually. I really don't mind about fictional players, I can always rationalize it (prospects who make it in the game who didn't in real life, etc.). Besides which, I'll probably be either playing modern baseball or back in the distant, baggy-uniformed, mists of baseball time, so it doesn't really matter.
