I scouted the countries with "good" baseball players and have found a few decent players. haven't tried scouting anything else.

once they find someone do they send you a personal message? Also, how long did it take for them to find the players?

You'll get a personal message if your scout finds someone. I'd suggest searching countries with a higher level than Afghanistan.

It can take up to a few months from my experience so far.

I don't think hidden players are generated in countries at the '0' level.

Aren't there just a little bit too many players from countries where baseball doesn't really exist? I haven't seen anyone from Afghanistan yet, but I did sign an 18-year old South African pitching prospect in the off-season (my scouts think he's good, too). There was at least one MLB-quality Lithuanian middle infielder, a marginally talented Dutch outfielder, and a decent pitching prospect from Germany among the free agents at game start, and the guy who looks to be my #4 starter on opening day is from Italy.

I don't know about South Africa, but in the other abovementioned countries baseball is a very, very marginal sport. I'm not saying you couldn't have guys born in these countries playing in the majors, but in all likelihood they'd be guys who have lived in North America from an early age. You could just as well make them Americans with dual nationality, if the game supported such a thing like other SI games do.

Maybe your scout has a working self-preservation instinct, and all the baseball talent in Afghanistan is on the Taleban side.

I got a guy out of the Phillipines, which is fair. He was all wheels, no baseball skills, like you'd expect.

I find players all the time, sometimes a couple a month, and then none for a while. The problem is most of the time, they aren't very good. Only like 1 out of 5 or so is actually worth signing, at least that is what i have seen so far. Lot's of minor leaguers with very little chance to make it big.

Found mostly marginal talent

I only sent scouts to the suspected hotspots (Domican, Venezuela, Japan, Taiwan). For the most part I just found only marginal talent. I usually just signed them to a minor league contract (not sure what the rules regarding draft eligibility are??). I did find one quality starting pitcher out of Canada. He spent a year in AAA and then made the opening day roster the following year (I took the advice of my bench coach).

I just signed my first decent player. Luther Macivor, a 17 year old from Canada, is now my Short Season (A) closer with potential ratings of 7-10-10. The thing is, he is only rated a 58 out of 80 in potential. Odd. He looks like a solid player.

Other than him I have signed a couple of players to fill out rosters. Ive got a 17 year old 3B at rookie league who could turn into a backup infielder. Not much more though.

There is a professional baseball league here in Germany. I'm not saying the quality is high, and you shouldn't see hundreds (or even tens) of players from, Germany making it to the majors in the US, but a few is certainly not impossible.

You will find alot of players that weren't born stateside, you will find players that were born in countries that their parents have been stationed in. Don't understand the make them duel nationality if they were born in South Africa then they are South African not American and same with other countries.

Out of any place with low overall talent in the sport. As far as this game is concerned. When you scout obscure countries, you scout for athletes, not for players. Nothing against the Phillipines in real life; I'm only thinking in terms of (for example) American colleges that occasionally get world class athletes from around the world to play American football, and they have to teach them everything.

I was sure that a country as big as Germany has a league (Holland has one too; heck, we even have one here in Finland), but I had no idea it was a pro league. I'm still willing to bet that a regular-season baseball game is a minuscule event in Germany, if you compare it to a Bundesliga soccer game or a MLB game in the States.

And my Italian guy allowed 6 runs (4 earned) in 4 innings in his first spring training game. Keep it up, Fabrizio, and you'll be replaced by some Nicaraguan dude before April
