Evaluating Talent
I know you use the scouts to get an updated view of ratings for players. But sometimes hard to interpet them. In past versions, wasn't there text associated with all players that kind of gave you an idea on the talent of the player? I think it was on their player cards. Besides seeing the ratings, is there anything else the scouts can give you to better determine if the player is overall good?

Well, the scouting results are really the way you have to evaluate talent. What are you having trouble interpreting? Perhaps someone can help you with that to make it easier for you.

Yeah, in the old version there was a quick scouting writeup. I liked those, even if they were a bit generalized, mainly because it seemed like something you would read in the BA prospect handbook. I do love how you get different rating evaluations from the different scouts, and have to sort it out, but the writeups were cool.

That is kind of what I was looking for. Something quick that I could get advice from the scouts. I understand others like reading into the details, but it was always nice to see something at a high level.
Since it only displays the current ratings and rightfully so, how do you judge if this person can/will grow into a superstar? |

If you scout a player and look on the bottom half - the 20/80 ratings will give you a pretty decent idea on his current ability and future abilty.
Here is something on found on a scouting site that gives the basic idea of the 20-80 range Rating players: 70-80 All-Star, well above-average player 60-69 Above average 50-59 Major League average 40-49 Below average, fringe player 30-39 Well below-average, organizational-type player |

Giants44 you cleared up a lot for me. Thanks. I had no idea what the numbers meant, now that really does give me a good way to evaluate talent.
