Angry I Officially Hate A Big Part of This Game....So Far

I don't know what exactly to complain about. But I have just spent the last 4 hours creating two seperate universes that I have been wanting to build. The setup from the last one I tried:

I created a historical league from 1970
One team in every minor league level for the above MLB historical league
I added a Major American League from the list, then deleted all leagues but the PCL and Texas League so I could adjust them my way as independent leagues with lower talent and much lower finances
Leagues from Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Mexico and a fictional European League.

I spend two hours getting everything as I want it, hit start... it sets everything up and gets about 4% through the creating fictional teams process and crashes. This is exactly what happened with my first attempt tonight. I never had a problem creating a league with the leagues already set up. But anything I try to create myself doesn't seem to want to work. So far it's not very customizable.

It's to the point where I don't even want to try creating another league. I spend all that time for nothing. It's just too much effort, having to adjust every little detail for every league you want, and the fact that you have to backspace over everything to change it doesn't help.

Uggh. Maybe I just need some sleep. As I said, I really don't know what to complain about. The game has enormous potential and once I get into it I really enjoy it, but I was looking very forward to customizing my own little baseball world and I am having no luck.

This thread isn't really about bugs, which is why it's not in that thread. I guess I just needed to vent after having all my work shot to hell.

Gibson swings, and a fly ball to deep right field! This is gonna be a home run! Unbelievable! A home run for Gibson! And the Dodgers have won the game, 5 to 4; I don't believe what I just saw! I don't believe what I just saw!

Ya, I spent something like 7 hours last night setting up a league. Only to have it crash, and since saving isn't automatic like in the old one, it was all gone.

I've set up 8-9 leagues so far and everyone had something wrong with them up until I just decided to make a current league with CubbyFan's roster. That seems fine, but now scouting is killing me.

I've had a few crashes myself... it's frustrating. But when it was all said and done, neither SI or OOtp have let me down in the past so I'm not too worried about it. It's gonna take me a patch or two before I figure out how the hell all this new stuff works anyways.

Im a little disappointed with the actual game play and the gameplay interface. Gameplay in 2006 is much slower that 6,51. I appreciate the fact that people spent a lot of time writing the PbP but its way to wordy and cumbersome. And who decided to throw in 'a word from our sponsers at Sion'? Please streamline the PbP!!

Of the two gameplay screen, the main one dpesnt show important ingame stats...like pitch count. The second screen is so full of numbers that its like the visual equivalent of white noise. And the game graphics on that page are terrible.

I wish I could do all the off the field stuff in 2006, a huge improvement, and play the games in 6.51.

There needs to be an option to save the league settings before the game goes ahead and creates the league. Not only because setting up a complicated universe is too much to do in one sitting, but to avoid losing all your work when it goes and crashes.

Not had a crash so far in setting up as league but did crash twice during the start of the season, kept losing the data so I changed it to save every week and it never crashed after that, weird.

I agree with bababui on the gameplay, writing wise what the guys have come up with is good but sometimes it does go on a bit but overall very good game, oh I came up with another word for the game "sackable" if the boss finds out how many times I've played the game at work on my laptop

Any chance of an option to save league setups before you create the game?
