Sad fate of minor league managers

It's brutal being a minor league manager: every time you turn around the major league GM moves players on you and you have to constantly change lineups/pitching roles to replace lost players with new players.

It's double brutal when you have a player hitting .400 in AAA near the beginning of the season and he's DEMOTED and replaced by some AA stiff hitting .206.

That's kind of the way it happens in real life lol. If you want to experience the minor league manage feel, those are the things you have to put up with. If you don't play as a manager of a Major League Team.

What I am more concerned about is the bug I'm hearing about that players are being removed but replacements are being put back in (or auto-generated). Hope this gets fixed soon.

Yes, indeed, that's why I'm starting out as a poor middle-management lacky in order to live a life of powerlessness and alientation.

Perhaps it would represent too much of change in the logic within the game but I wonder if the role of minor league manager could be changed a bit.

Perhaps by permitting him to make suggestions to the BIG GM about player moves from/to his minor league team. If he mades good (lucky) recommendations maybe he'd get a reward: a nice message! And if he made bad recommendations perhaps he'd get nasty messages from the big GM. This might involve even asking for players below the current minor league team to be promoted up to the minor league team controlled by the manager.

Not really possible in this version, or a direction they are looking to move in, IMO (at least in this version). I was unhappy that you can just jump from level to level. If you start as a minor league manager, you should have to struggle to get a major league contract and such-in this version, you can auto promote yourself at any time.

That was mentioned during testing. But it was a case of a feature needing more time to develop than was available.

It is a good idea so keep lobbying for it and it should have a good chance of making it in next year (or maybe sooner, who knows)...

I'm sure it would be a lot of work to do this, but it would improve the game dramatically IMO.

If you don't want to be a Lord of Baseball, but you also don't want a major-league-parent Lord constantly messing with your team's roster, you could always set yourself up a nice little *independent* minor league to work in. You could still have the majors and affiliated teams running in the world, so you'd have the challenges of sometimes losing good FA's to affiliated teams while you had to scour their castoffs for anything of value--but nobody would take your third-baseman away the week after he finally finds his bat.

This sounds like a good compromise for now. Have you tried it? I'm just wondering if the game is flexible enough to set things up like that.

Players get demoted when they are hitting over .400 in real life?
