Haha, hey now, I would say 99% of the people here love the work you do. And the other 1% is just the same guy with different screen names.

You must spread some reputation around before you can give it to Markus Heinsohn again.

I said "meet expectations" only because I have very high expectations .

and that is exactly why I voted "meet expectations" as well. If it weren't for TRTR, I would have voted exceed expectations, but since we've seen so much, my expectations have grown.

I think the change from OOTP 6 to OOTP 2006 will be like upgrading from a Model T to a Lamborghini or some fancy kind of German vehicle.

More like from a big old Buick to a Toyota. Man, the game is small in size compared to prior versions. 30 megs! Whoa!

I expect it will come out and be alot of fun to play but have some really obnoxious bugs that Markus will be burning the midnight coffee fixing over the next couple weeks.

I thik it may fall just a bit short of some expectations. I say that because there appears to be many features cut that were in previous versions that are no longer in the game, which for me is kinda disappointing. Having said that though, I am looking very much forward to the game. Can't wait to start my new and improved league. The scouting system lookins outstanding.

I think it will fall short of expectations. This isn't as negative as it sounds. At this point, I believe each new generation of SI game (CM3, CM4, NHLEHM, etc) rolls out with problems and missing items that prevent them from reaching their full potential (some of which never get fixed in patches and are left for the next release to resolve).

NHLEHM was underwhelming, while the next release of EHM was brilliant. CM3 did not really get some legs under it until the 00/01 release and the last release (01/02) of that engine was the best. CM4 still had problems after the final patch. CM 03/04 improved upon it, but it wasn't until FM2005 and FM2006 that CM4/FM really hit its stride. I am not saying the games are bad. It isn't that at all. SI has been so good that expectations are high. However, the games are so complex that important features are left out of the first release and some quirky bugs and other unpleasant details end up in the game after patches have stopped being released.

I expect the game to be good and worth playing, but it may leave us hoping the 'next release' gets it right. This board has already drawn attention to some missing features that, while they are not showstoppers, already have the game falling short of expectations. The game may not be quite what I expected it to be, but then my expectations were very high.

I think we'll know when we know and any amount of speculation before release is just that. The game may suck. The game may be the best thing you ever played. The game may seem great until the next version comes out and then you see it has shortcomings (like many 1st editions do).

I won't say certain things are "cut." That implies that it's the old code and Markus removed some stuff. It's a new code, new game, new everything. When you're starting over you shouldn't be slaved to the past and it's time to make a clean start of things. Some things people liked in previous versions are not in this game. Some people will miss them. Some won't. Some think they will miss them but after awhile will realize they don't mind. Others will think they won't miss them and actually will.

Many new things will be there. Some will like them and some will not. Some will decide they ruin the way they play their solo or online leagues or their fictional universe or how they play historical mods. Others will not even worry what it does to their old leagues as they'll be so thrilled with the game they won't look back.

We can project, guess, spin, hypothesize, worry, and get excited about it but we don't have anything in our hard drives yet. Personally, I have no idea which way I'll end up. I have some suspicions based on what I've read about the game, about what I'm looking for, and my hopes. And I'm going to give it the benefit of the doubt. Still, it's useless for me to guess that I'm going to be estatic or pissed until I download, install, and begin playing. I fail to see the point of this thread except as a way for people to spin and stir in advance of the release of the game.

Zitofan,

You fail to see, make any logical points, make sense, make friends, - you fail at just about everything because everytime someone posts you criticize them and roll your eyes at them. I would be willing to bet that in person you're someone who just doesn't get along with anyone. Therefore I would assume you have a lot of enemies.

You're just bitter about me being a bit overreactive in another thread which I'm sorry about. As for your assumptions that's cool.
