my prospect retired
Has anyone seen this before?
I had a really good prospect. His talent was G/A/G/B/B/G...he could play the all outfield possitions with ranges of A/B/A. He was 22, and in AAA. His overall ratings were 5/4/6/4/4/4. Basically he was on his way, had a shot to win many awards, break some records and so on. Then I hit next season and he retires!!

Maybe he got the Eric Crouch (http://www.nfl.com/teams/story/STL/5705215) syndrome.

I had that happen to me twice one season...my prospects were a little older(29/30)...but I'd promoted them to the big leagues before going to next season. they retired anyway....boohoo for me

Ive seen this happen a couple of times, but not to me. One of the computer teams drafted Kenny Lofton in the first round. After a couple of years he retired without ever having played in the big leagues.

OOTP needs to generate news stories 1-2 years down the line after such a prospect retires, detailing their debilitating career-ending football injuries. It could then award them the Bo Jackson Craniorectal Award.

lol I love it!! You think that link was....interesting, check this one out. Have to read the story first to understand, so here it is:
What a pretty quiet serene scene, just invites you to bring your hot tea and take a seat. This is pretty neat. Apparently the owners of this house had been seeing images and hearing voices for quite a while. They did some research and found that a lady once lived in the house who lost her husband during the civil war. Legend says that she used to sit at the table and look across the fields in anticipation of her loved one returning home. He never came. So, they say she still waits. They caught this photo of what they claim to be her. This one was wild and a little spooky once you find the ghost in the picture. It took me a few minutes to find it, but when you do, it just stands out. Like one of those optical illusions. Give it some time to show up. To save you some time, concentrate around the table. Best not to focus too much on one spot. Look around the table and toward the window. Click on the link below for the picture. Best to enlarge. For an added touch turn up the volume (but not too loud) , it's faint, but the low murmur you hear was what got the photographer's attention first. And here's the link http://home.attbi.com/~n9ivo/whatswrong.swf

There is a non football story that goes with this thread. The Mets had a 3rd round guy quit after one year because he hated baseball. Said he only played for his parents and now that he had been drafted and played a year he hoped they would leave him alone. Walked off with a nice chunk of change I seem to recall.

Man, if only God had put that kid's talent in my body to match my passion for baseball. <Sigh>. Oh well, very interesting story

Maybe he's from Utah and went on his two-year Mormon mission. You could pretend that, and bring him back after two seasons of proselyzing in Eastern Europe.

Jerman, I saw something like that awhile back, except it was a girl's room who supposedly died in the room. It might be the same thing, I just didn't click it, because I don't feel like getting frightened. And the Barney thing didn't work.
