Crashing to Desktop...

I'm running on Full-Screen mode, and during games, seems like once every three games, right in the middle of them OOTP will exit to the desktop, any know fix for this? I'm running:

Windows 98
64MB RAM
OOTP version 4.2b

We need more details concerning this, what other programs you are running as well as what exactly happens(if a particular thing triggers this).

Have you run defrag and scandisk recently? Not sure this is an OOTP problem.

I actually just factory restored my computer so defrag and scandisk shouldn't be needed. I just did it yesterday.

I really don't know why this would be happening, did you reinstall the game at that time as well?

Is this a new league or one you had played before?

What does "factory restored my PC" mean? Was there a specific reason you needed to do this (looking at possible hardware problems with that question). If there are hardware issues then there should be other unusual symtoms unrelated to OOTP. I hope that's not it but if you have problems saving things or are generating unusual errorswhen closing files it sometimes means hard disk issues.

Are there strange things going on in the league, like <25 man rosters for some teams or teams with only 2 pitchers etc.? That could be a reason.

Is there a firewall running as well? If you have rnaapp.exe running I think that means you use dial-up so it is possible that this crash is related to an eLicense connection - seems very unlikely but I don't recall your symptoms mentioned before so it might be something unique.

If there are other OOTP users who have had crashes during the PBP of games let them speak now.

Factory Restore means you either had a virus to to escape from, or you just wanted to restore your CPU back to the way it was at time of purchase.

I use Cable Internet, and I'm not behind a firewall. So far though only the crashing to desktop is the bug.

I know that when you use an imaging program to restore a PC to a previous date, then any hardware installation since the last imaging took place can cause problems, that includes going from dial-up to cable etc.. That may be barking up the wrong tree though.

I'm using the CD that came with the computer to do this, since it has all the correct hardware info...
