You might not want logos to generate automatically if you're using custom logos.

There's also the point that you might want to change the abbreviation and both colours without having to wait for the logo to automatically update each time

I'm sure custom logos will automatically override any generated by the game.

The ability to test color selections, which will effect the colors in the header (at least), without having to leave the screen is a good thing to have, IMHO.

dola

Also, assuming user-made skins follow FMs example, we'll see skins that use team colors in the menu sections ... the need for secondary (text) colors to be readable over primary (background) colors will be essential. Hence, the need for testing.

Why are you sure?

There is also another possibility the user might not want logos at all.

Markus is too customization-friendly to allow otherwise. I have The Faith.

Hasn't it been said that logos can be toggled off? If not, we most assuredly should have that option ...

Wow, if this statistical tracking is as good as it sounds (in TigersFans blog) then I will be in baseball statistical heaven.

Just to clarify this, it appears after reading the blog that one can go back and view past draft picks. If this is the case, can we view any round from any year and will it give us the statiscal data to go along with that? (Again, it appears to be this way but to avoid confusion on my part I want to clarify this.) Thanks.

Great blog TigerFan. Lots of info that I needed to hear/read.

I understand that, but these are different solutions to the potential problems, so the question is meant to ask why are you sure your solution is correct.

This keeps looking better and better.

In the team options page there is a tab for team strategy. I would love to see that as a screenshot at somepoint or just get a sense for the options.

Also are the park factors automatically created to go with the park design in this version? And will the game take altitude/heat/humidity etc. into account for those figures.

I cant wait till May 31st!

Quoted because I'm curious about this, too.

OOTP2006 doesn't allow ghost players in the minors, right? So how does it handle historical sims that don't include enough players to fill out every team's minor league system?

I believe it depends on how you set it up. If you set up a minor league system and the database doesn't import enough players to cover the teams the game will probably generate players to fill those spots. However, you can either limit the number of minor leagues or limit them entirely (and use a reserve list) if you don't want those "non-historic" players being generated.

I know this seems like a petty thing to worry over and I'm sure everyone assumed it would be in there.....but it's nice to see that you can change/name the field that normally is the team's city name. I feared that field would just have the city pull down menu.

Although I have to wonder if deleting a division will simply move the teams to another division or will it delete all the teams in the division as well?

Two things

1. I think the Move Team option is to move them to another division.

2. I'm glad that contract extensions can now happy anytime, not just Aug. 1st.

Here's a ballpark visual for the Wichita Flight from the team options screenshot (May 11, 2006)

It's a bit small but it gives you an idea of what type of hitter should thrive here.

Color= #FFEA01

OK, I get it...(red=255/green=236/blue=1)=bright yellow, but does this mean we have to do hex conversions everytime we want to change the color?

if its like html you can use the basic colors in word form, I believe 16 of them...

yellow
black
red
white
blue
green
orange
purple
gray
maroon
lime
cyan
etc

of course youd have to ask a beta tester to get the actual answer

A quick google search might be easier.
