License issues
Dear Steve et al,
Per my last email on this portion of the forum, my computer blew up (with smoke) and I had to have the OOTP license re-set. BTW, the license people are a pain in the ass. Then Dell sent me a computer that just did not work. After replacing every part of the PC but the the hard drive, and still not solving the problem, they sent me a new (refurbished) computer. This computer does not have any copy of OOTP installed. Since my OOTP 6 league crashed and the 2006 version is coming out soon, I have not been playing. But, do you have a question you might ask? Yes! Will OOTP 2006 require that an earlier version be installed on the PC before it can be installed. If this is the case, I will not worry about the old licenses. Thanks. Jeff Ward |

No it will not, I'm sorry to hear about your issue w/ the elicense folks I've had nothing but outstanding service from them over the years as have many others that have purchased the game.

Steve,
Thanks. I kind of put the last paragraph backwards, but you apparently got my drift. I'm sure elicense has worked well for others, but for me: - They don't ever return calls left on their system ( I left 3) despite the 24 hour promise. - At times their phone system simply puts you in an endless loop. - They did not restore the license I requested so I just used the second on that version. I did not want to deal with them again. - When I took offense at their lousy service (I did say their customer services "sucks" in an email - but nothing worse) they did not apologize, tried to tell me I left no messages (I left 3) and accused me of using foul language. I CC'd that email to the OOTP tech support email address. If I treated my customers, even one, that way (www.Lapinator.com) word starts getting around. One negative experience is more far reaching than 50 good ones. They are not a good company. Just my .02. Jeff |
